I've gave up on EMET some time ago... Unpredictable events, troubles, messes... and we never think the culprit will be EMET... :(

It's the second problem I've encountered with EMET.
BTW, Toolwiz TimeFreeze is very light. A keeper :D

A Wilders member may -or Not- handle/tolerate EMET problems.
    -BUT-
For many Average Home Users EMET turned into a disaster...

DItto. I had a few issues with EMET. Didn't have the patience to configure it or bother with it.

works great on my 7 64bit
    I discover it on Addictivetips
    http://www.addictivetips.com/window...-virtual-environment-protect-it-from-malware/

I was searchin' a good virtualizer similar to Returnil but without AV and other no basic features, simple for tryin' software on my pc not for security purpose, TTF is what i nedd and is free for personal use, great.
Undoubtedly better than Wondershare Time Freeze (Pay), and TTF is better than WTF as abbreviation too:D

    Bump
    Version update
    1.2.0.120(Jan. 02, 2012)

Added float toolbar to show protection mode.
Remove the free limition. Now it is free for any users.

Free for any users, maybe they really will make it open source :thumb:

EDIT: I tried it and there is still no floating toolbar. Hmm

Did you enable the checkbox "Show toolbar on Desktop for Frozen Mode"?
    Code:
Added float toolbar to show protection mode
([I][U]this option is off as default[/U][/I], please enable the option and
when Frozen mode is on, the toolbar will be shown on your desktop).
It seems that is foreseen later to boot Windows with active protection.

If the program could survive the boot, it would be very useful and welcome :)

I have installed the latest version on XP and everything was fine. No problems, no bugs, no slowdowns, no nothing. Everything worked like it was supposed to. I installed RealDownloader and after reboot no sign of it.
Excellent software, light, effective, nice interface and free. Perfect!
I didn't try the file protection feature, but never tried it with Wondershare either

Wow Night_Raven, that's an eye-opener for sure! Based on your tests it seems to me that Shadow Defender is the 'no-brainer' light-virtualization app of choice (based soley on security considerations).

This italian site: http://www.megalab.it/7720/congela-le-modifiche-al-tuo-sistema-operativo-con-toolwiz-time-freeze warns that Toolwxi is not yet able to protect by most dangerous rootkits.

It's old news that virtualization software can't protect against rootkits. Returnil use an AV and anti-executable to protect against this, while Wondershare Time Freeze is also vulnerable. I use Toolwiz Time Freeze for trying out new software. But maybe the developers will improve this tool. I'm hoping for that to happen. :D

+1 I think this is the main purpose of the software.
But, in some sites, the tool is classified as being an antivirus software

Anyone had any bad experiences with this?

Can this program be trusted? Is it safe? It seems dodgy.

When I searched for Toolwiz on softpedia it shows 0 results.

But using google it took me here:

Is ToolWiz TIme Freeze safe to use or could be spyware in disguise? It looks like stolen code from Shadow Defender? :cautious:

Do you have any Shadow Defender official complain about that?

Why does it looks like a stolen code from Shadow Defender? And why is it a spyware in disguise? Do you even read the rest of this thread?
According to James, they developed TimeFreeze all by themselves.
BTW, seems like the next release will be able to start timefreeze protection automatically at startup. From here -http://forums.toolwiz.com/topic/automatic-start-timefreeze-protection-in-startup

I'd use it and shadowdefender if I could remember to turn it off when trying to save things to my laptop. Really a pain when I download and install something then forget I'm in shadowmode.

Can I please ask someone who is experienced in testing software to see if Time Freeze by Toolwiz sends any data and information to their server and what exactly it may be doing in the background?

    Thanks, would really appreciate it.:thumb:

Is anyone here able to comment as to how this compares to Retunil and Shadow Defender feature-wise and performance-wise?

    Thanks,
    Wendi
