Statement from near the bottom of their download page:

"Please note : The scanner is saved under a random filename so that malware infections won't block the scanner."

The last time I installed Prevx, the "Default" option during the installation was to create a random folder name for the Prevx Programs folder for the same reason given by SUPERAntiSpyware. During the Prevx installation the choice was a random folder name or the real folder name with the random folder name being recommended.

FYI - it is not quite "portable" at this point.

It left a bunch a references in the registry to it's drivers.

Lit up my event logs like a Christmas tree on reboot.

I downloaded just to try it out. Seemed to work as advertised. One thing is after download I checked for updates and the program updated. So always up to date may be a bit of a stretch although the update was just from today.

Started a scan and it crashed o_O

Probably best to run SAS from UBCD4WIN on an infected system anyway.

It doesn't install per se but it does leave a few bits and pieces beyond the typical MRU's.

Must admit, I'm very glad to see this tool! Thanks for the notice!

The latest definitions are packaged each time we do a release now :) So it always has the latest definitions :)

What FP's were detected, I would like to see the scan log.

I had some problems at first. Avira was giving a FP on some of the necessary files and I couldn't build a disc. Once that was sorted out I love it.

A scan with SAS from UBCD4WIN usually clears out a good deal of crud on an infected machine.
