    1) Does anyone know if there are still changes made or new builds for ShadowUser or is the latest version several years old?.
It is difficult to find out, their forum has only 1 shadowuser post.
And i can't find any info regarding releases or builds or changelogso_O

    2)
ShadowUser can exclude directories from ' freezing' but has/had no password protection. DeepFreeze has password protection, but can not exclude directories from ' freezing'. ( i need both features)
Any solutions, or is the above info incorrect?

I don't believe there are any new builds, and I suspect there won't be.

    tuatara,
ShadowUser has a 30-trial version on the website of StorageCraft. That is the latest version.
If that version doesn't do what you want it to do, you have to use something else like Returnil, ShadowDefender, PowerShadow, FirstDefense-ISR Rescue, ... or RollbackRx + its clones. :)

    Hi,

Yes, absolutely, there is a very urgency for that, but where is the manpower ?

Robodog, along with others, such as spoclsv.exe; dummycan; xiaohoa.exe; killdisk; !viking-eu.exe; loverabbit.exe;black-day exe, have spread thru there epidemically. I would assume most of major security vendors at this side of globe are well prepared to deal with them  Hoping SU did not miss the train.

There is no "train" ShadowUser is several years old. At the time it wasn't intended as a security product. As I said updates are highly unlikely.

    Thanks guys,

Both ShadowUser and DeepFreeze are good products,
But i am looking for a product that can exclude a (or more) directories and
    have password protection.
Are there any of those you have mentioned that have these features ?

That way i can update the antivirus and protect the computer from being
corrupted by the user that is working on it.

I like to have a running Antivirus that is up to date because the user
is transfering and receiving files with/from others.

This question takes this thread off topic. Might be better to start a new one.

If you have a partition available unfrozen you could try using Microsoft's Junction utility which will create a symbolic link between folder/files on your frozen partition to redirect to an unfrozen area or partition. Just search Google or Microsoft for Junction. With a little creativity you could probably redirect everything into a password protected area.

It is proved in millions of computers in Asia. It is better to use the AE to protect the SU/SD/DF/Returnil/PS/Rollbk.

As the source code of Robotdog is opened, the bigger storm will come soon.

not to make light of it, but it is a real big issue. I know Returnil has made some specific changes in their new software to address this issue. It is real and real bad.
