    Here's what I did...

    - Installed sandboxie
    - Installed firefox
    - Made firefox my default browser

everything is working fine except my new bookmarks are not saved when I exit sandboxed firefox. How do I fix that?

    Thanks,
    len

Sandboxie Control > DefaultBox > Sandbox Settings > Applications > Web Browser. Place a check mark in "Allow Direct Access to Mozilla Firefox and SeaMonkey Bookmarks". That should do it.

Actually, I did that. But when I then started a sandboxed firefox session, it hung up before showing my home page. I then unclicked the box and my homepage came up fine.

Should have known it would not be that easy. :doubt: I do not run it that way and can not test it myself right now.

I'll play with it and report back - but as always, thank you for your help.

    Yes i have same the problem with SB 3.34 but then with Opera bookmarks,solved with resource access>direct access> %AppData%\Opera\Opera 10 preview\profile\opera6.adr .
    Maybe it can help you.

Look for your bookmarkfolder in Firefox and allow direct access to it.

Going back to IE7 - thanks anyway. I had incompatibility issues that were more trouble than worth to sort with Firefox - Norton, my employer's VPN link.

Also, didn't see much difference if any with regard to performance.

I'll just be one of the gazillion IE7 sheep in the world:D

No,not really Len IE still holds the market share and IMO it can be better performance and least problematic some times then Third party browsers, besides the fact IE is needed at times.I always found the performance of IE better then fox on My past old XP and now over to Vista.being said that opera is my primary browser and IE as needed.

problem with bookmarks can be a bug in sandboxie,it occurs on all my rigs,at least with Opera. To get around this see my earlier post.

I do not experience it with IE Fox or opera, perhaps its a bug that does not effect all users.Hopefully its not a bug thats to difficult to track down so it will be 100 percent for all.
