    HI,

I have been looking for a program to capture images, that can save the files to Jpegs instead of the windows default of bitmap images. I found two free programs one called 'Hoversnap', 'print screen', and one shareware program called 'HyperSnap' > Just wondering if anyone has heard of these programs?

    Thanks

I use ScreenHunter (free) which makes jpegs. It was recommended in a newsletter. I've heard of Hoversnap, but never used it.

I use Gadwin Systems' PrintScreen v3.1 which is free. www.gadwin.com

Seems noone can answer your question . Sadly , nor can I . But , since everyone seems to offer alternatives , I would like to add one to the pot . TechSmith's " SnagIt " . I like it and works exceptionally well .
Just my 1 and a half cents anyway

i use hoversnap too. once it's been launched i just leave it running in the systray then whenever i press prt/scn it takes a picture and puts it on the desktop.

either ctrl/print/screen or alt/prt/scrn will take a picture of the focused window and i think the other key combo will let you take a picture of what you want by clicking a mouse button and dragging.

    I concur. :thumb:
While HyperSnap-DX is a very good tool, SnagIt won my vote too. :)

Here are some more free Screen Capture tools not yet mentioned:
    - Ace Winscreen
    - Screenshot Pilot
    - Solid Capture
    - TurboSnap
    - Neoshooter
    - FastStone Screen Capture

All those tools will do what you've been looking for.
It's only a matter of preference for one or the other.
Try some out and see what you like best. ;)

Already mentioned, but I use Gadwin PrintScreen for most screenshots, and ScreenShot Captor for doing a lot of them at the same time. ScreenShot Captor was just updated to do things like capturing everything in a scrolling screen.

HyperSnap is excellent - best there is in my view because it can
also capture screens while playing games which is why I started
using it in the first place.

A great freebie, already mentioned, is the Donation Coder one
    Excellent wee program
