PDF icon gone

Hi - I use a ton of pdf for work & for some reason the red pdf icon I've grown accustom to has vanished. I just get this generic grey looking symbol now -which honestly sucks. I've reinstalled Adobe 9.3 - tried the repair function & nothing changed. I'm using Vista btw. Please help! Thank you, my best, D

 

When you say repair function - which .. Vista's built-in? This the box you've just had problems with?

Where are you used to seeing this icon - taskbar, system tray .... where?

Which Adobe program's that from - meaning, one other than Reader? Failure to reboot might have prevented repair. Swap color depth and back again in addition to those two links in the "tips" section of that page I forwarded. And again - this the box you recently had trouble with?
