PC Matic still exist ?! sure it protects against everything since almost everything they detect is considered as malwares (huge rate of FPs)

Hello, My name is Dodi Glenn, and I'm the VP of Cyber Security for PC Pitstop. Some of you may know me from my days working on VIPRE. With regards to the efficacy of the product, we are one of the few, if not only, antimalware products that use a whitelist approach to security. What this means is that instead of us chasing the bad guys, we only look for what is good. This is why our RAP scores are so high. As someone who came from the traditional blacklist AV world, I can say the product is much more effective at blocking malware. For example, ransomware is easily defeated, since they would never appear on our whitelist. The app is cloud based, and talks to our servers to check whether or not a file is known good or known bad. When a false positive is reported to us (which happens automatically), my research team, on average, will handle it within 4 hours. Since we use a global whitelist, that means that everyone would receive that same whitelist signature, so only one person has to report it. The other thing PC Matic offers is driver updates, vulnerability updates (patch management), and optimization of the computer. Interesting approach, I believe Kaspersky is also using a whitelist combined with a blacklist. But I wonder how user friendly the whitelist-only approach truly is. What if you want to install some app that's not on the list, I suppose you can temporarily turn off PCPitstop? Or will it immediately block the unknown process once it's turned on again?
