my regular harddrive was toasted on my computer but I've my external backup hd. I use nortan ghost 10 CD to tranfer everything to my backup hd.
I just bought a new hd and installed it. I saw only the recovery the files. How do tranfer everything back from the backup hd to the regular hd by use Norton Ghost CD?

    surfbug,

I'm a little confused. Do you have a backup image (recovery point) of your original OS partition?
    Where is it stored?
Do you have a functioning HD at present?
How many HDs do you have at present? What sizes are they?

    What do you mean?

    surfbug,

I'd like to help but I don't understand what you are trying to do. Perhaps you could answer my questions in the previous post.

The way I see your problem is that your main DRIVE doesn't work anymore. You bought a new one and you want to transfer your backup image from your EXTERNAL DRIVE to your new INTERNAL DRIVE.

I have Ghost 9, but 10 should be similar. What you need to do is to boot your computer with the installation CD from GHOST 10. The installation CD is ALSO a recovery CD which means it will allow you to SEE the files in the external drive and to restore those files onto your new drive. You should follow the instructions within the CD. I can't tell you more as I haven't used Ghost for years, perhaps someone familiar with Ghost 10 might help you.
