Thanks, that makes 3 processes. What are your thoughts on it?

    That never worked with Bitdefender.

Decent on ram usage, good detection, 1 year free license, so far so good. :)

They need to make it easier to download, install, and get up and running.

Hmm. This could be as good or better than Roboscan, but I wouldn't be able to recommend it unless they make it easier to obtain.

Yeah, that is the only bad part about it.

As per the comparsion table on their site

    Free Version - MyFreeAntivirus

Paid Version - MyAntivirus & Internet Security

But with free version we are getting MyAntivirus instead of MyFreeAntivirus.

    Confusion, right?

One of the reasons i consider WOT kind of useless. (Just my personal opinion) :D

Fine, I see how it is. They didn't want to check out my post. :(

Ever heard of Auslogics AV? That AV that looks exactly like BD? Yep, they also licensed BD's engine and technology. MySecurityCenter (MSC) use the 2012 version of everything.

Blog post announcing their partnership with BitDefender: http://blog.mysecuritycenter.com/20...t-security-to-deliver-the-best-security-ever/

just finished some testing and it does the same autodelete as bitdefender...no thanks. the detection was almost the same as bitdefender though for some reason it did miss a few things bd2012 found not sure why they seem to be running the same engine versions. besides trying to actually acquire it was a royal pain. and their response to me was its a year at a time like avast is i would assume.

Most likely modified internal heuristics, etc.

Now its working. May be some network issue.

I too tested it. Here the detection was exactly the same as BD.

    Yes it autodeletes.

I tried custom settings & selected quarantine. But then instead of quarantine its just blocking. And with default settings i.e the autodelete, it detected a PUP but didn't deleted or quarantined it, just blocked. Dont know if this is by design for PUP.

There's no way to set to ask.

Given some complaints about Roboscan's detection vs. BitDefender's, a free AV with identical detection would be great, but the difficulty of getting it, plus the fact it still auto-deletes is troubling.

Another thing I don't like is their site, how they use AV-Test results for BitDefender. They mention this but it implies it's their AV getting these awards. Also is this:

"BRAND NEW CONCEPT - Not like AVG, Avast and all the other free antivirus products"

Lol, what is so revolutionary about it? They are literally taking BD and putting their name on it, like Auslogics did.

They probably can if they want actually because their AV is BD. They most likely have not heard of Roboscan but I guess being the first free version of BD is revolutionary.

lol At least our wish finally came true. Sort of.

This is interesting, but the website gives some fake info. It says they will give 100% protection etc.... But the thing that is interesting is that it looks almost exactly like bitdefender. Its like a free version:eek:

it is bitdefender. they simply put their name in the top corner. for some reason for me the actual bitdefender detected a few things this missed not sure why since they are basically one in the same. but for me its a NO go due it to it deleting first with no recourse.

The 100% part is based off of BitDefender's awards, in a way. BD is a good product though and their technology was borrowed legally. I don't find anything wrong with the company or the products, however, they could use some feedback regarding the difficulty of getting to the free version.

Yes I agree, and they try to put 7 products on your to-buy list when you want the free version :cautious:

Well I guess they just need money some way.:(
I tested it a while and it is actually not that bad.
