My friend's computer froze.

There was a flash pop up saying that it was running slowly and if she wanted to abort it. She tried to hit abort and it froze up on her and she had to do a hard reboot by pressing the power button on the tower. I looked this up online and saw a forum on the Adobe site about how it happens when a script times out. What do you guys think? She thinks a possible scenario might be because of her uncle hammering on the desk top putting something together. I don't think that would of caused it.
