i read your revew about wat's rifgt to your dad and i think that u are wrong.
KIS has the worst firewall i have ever seen in my life.
it has a good proactive defence, and antivirus defence, but don't get drifted away.
i used to have kav 5 and i was pleased whith it. it caught a specific trojan horse in a website that gives away free mp3. when i installed kis 6, it didnot catch any of this trojan evry time i went to this website.
i decided to give f-secure antivirus 2006 from microsoft whith 6 month trail free a try and it caught that trojan, and trend micro 2007 too in my freind's house when we tried it.
so, don't get so caught up with kaspersky, and remember to do a full registery cleanup before u install it cause someties, it delets some of the windows system files if it findes a trace of an other antivirus system that was installed before it in the system dirictory.

how would f-secure detect but kav6.0 not?
unless you didnt use the right settings.
f-secure uses kav engine for viruses and trojans etc.
so they should boht catch it.
kav, nod32, dr web and antivir are my fav av's
and you said one trojan big deal no av is perfect and if you sent it to them in a password protected zip file they would add detection for it.

No word, the nov/dec date was said back in juli, as with all development it easily gets prolonged, i personally wouldn't be surprised if it is released in jan/feb 07.

Yes and you still have the proactive which have saved me plenty of times already...including a rootkit variant today.:)
