Yeah! Been there; done that. It got me in trouble (I think) once too. Seeing that I use 98se and IE also makes life in the fast lane exciting.

    Surf on, big ed

I don't realy understand why anyone uses hotmail anymore. I use to use it when using MSN messenger but I know have a net passport for a larger email account, so I have messenger and a decent sized email inbox in one.

By starting such a campaign against Microsoft, you could find yourself in a little trouble. If possible you would have to suggest replacements, and you would have to make sure the replacements are going to be safe, secure and around for a long time.

Gentlemen this thread is about hotmail and it should remain on topic and no personal attacks should be posted here. If it can not stay civil and on topic it will be closed

Set up Hotmail ('options' at right hand side of screen) with a junk email folder and a safe list then any email from anyone you don't trust goes to junk folder. You can then just let hotmail auto delete junk emails after 5 days or look at folder and move any email you want to the inbox.

In 'Mail display settings' there is option which will stop you getting trojans, etc:
    Display Internet content
To protect you and your account from misrepresentation, junk e-mailers, etc., you may suppress Internet content (i.e., links to websites, images, etc.) in messages until you decide to display it. (Note: Internet content will always be suppressed for messages in the Junk E-Mail folder.) More Info.
select to either: Display Internet content
or Automatically suppress Internet content in messages

So the features are in Hotmail to address your concerns.
Perhaps would help the uninitiated if they were the default behaviour.

    Hey JB,

It's really quite simple. I have a limited address book and the size for storage is sufficient for my use. I get less than a handful of spam in a weeks time so thats no prob either.

Hi Spanner,....Thank's for alerting us about this.

Well I don't use Hotmail, but YAHOO! mail has the options to:

    1. Go to the Next Message afterwards
    2. Go back to the Original Folder afterwards

    when moving/deleting messages.

Of course the right thing to choose would be # 2.

You can also set it to block HTML graphics in messages from being
    downloaded ...etc.

I wonder if Hotmail has these security mail options ??

Spanner, I would love to enjoy reading your posts as you can indeed make a great addition to this board, however, your shortened style gives me headaches, and I have English as my first language. I feel great pity for those that come here with English as their 2nd or 3rd language trying to decipher your posts. It is just common courtesy to type in a manner that is as clear, plain and as to the point as possible so that all can enjoy.

Please can you try to type the extra few letters so we can all take pleasure in your posts...

    Cheers

    Blackspear.

    Hi all :)

No, I am not taking sides here. I understand totally all of what you say.
Some friendly reminder(s) of "speaking" a bit more understandable for ALL of us, is acceptable, and perhaps sometimes needed.

But, it hurts me in the heart when and if Anyone is (acceptable in the forum)
"made fun of" - subtly or otherwise not understanding of their shortcomings.

I think Spanner is a great addition to this forum, with all his contributions and advise. No need to skip his posts and get the reading glasses out...if we all just try a bit.
Hence, I have real trouble understanding sometimes english speaking/writing
people worse...and they type every single letter out !

Yes, he may want to soften up a bit..and I think in most his posts he did already.
    I think he's just a bit in a hurry too much. :D

Anyways...like I said. Please lets not be unkind...just because someone nice otherwise, has some "flaws" - ticks - the shakes - constant typos -
poor english - or some bad habits that I'm sure of can be quite difficult to break.

    I know.

Mr.P will come around. But not with all the critizing of his poor style of typing.

I hope I made myself clear above.
Not taking sides. I just don't like for people getting constant kicks in the butt.

    Luv & Peace,

    ~Nat~

I also have to agree, I have to skip over the majority of your posts. Don't rush, spend some extra time thinking things out and proofreading. It's well worth it.. the more you do it, the more it will become 2nd nature :)
