There are quite a lot of AV's etc for mobiles now , as well as Apps for things like remotely deleting a lost/stolen phone.

I think it would be a good idea to have a forum or just a specific thread for discussing the pro and cons of these ..

Not really, the OS, hardware, portability, size, and features are very different.

I have Windows smart phone. Allmost once a week, I put a new cooked ROM (operating system) on it. Never used AV on it, never needed to.

For a while companies were making AVs for Windows 5.2 operating system and then they abandoned making the AVs with Windows 6.xx operating system. Haven't installed Windows 7 on the smart phone yet. Don't like the looks.

    Best regards,

    KOR!

Maybe there needs to be more of an android malware explosion before a separate forum is needed.

But definitely of interest are separate threads within a forum section e.g. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=294284

Since most of these mobile security programs are either still in beta or relatively new, members comments on their experiences have been very useful to me of late having finally upgraded to a smartphone.

But with a smartphone and the Android OS, battery life is more important to me than a security program at the present time.

Its not about malware or nasty apps running on smart phones its the fact that its virtually impossible to secure your privacy on one and its only been looked at by some governments. Protecting data on a mobile phone is almost impossible to do and it poses a big risk. Mobile phones are becoming pocket pcs and a everyday life thing. We need to seriously start looking at it

with all the apps one can install on your IOS and Android phone... privacy is near impossible..

For android, there are apps that requires internet access, location access, contacts for whatsapp, or phone id (IMEI number) to run properly
