If you use the superb Freeware ImgBurn I think it tells you if I remember correctly when you use it's
CD Formatting tool, what the CD is and what's on it etc. - this is the homepage,

    http://www.imgburn.com/

I just tried it with both a CDR and then a CDRW FB, just clicked on
'Verify disk' and it gave all info. each time.

So go ahead, most of those recovery type disks create a bootable ISO image .... load'er and burn! Wouldn't hurt if you were specific ....

Ultimate Boot burn straight up! No need to format any cd-rw's - load'em straight cdr'n go! Consistency's not a strong point for cd-rw's.

Malware free we can certainly strive for. Fact is, no matter how many bases you think you've got covered there'll always be room for improvement. Sure, we can reduce the possibilities, maybe, but only as much as we're capable of proofing based on applied know-how ... time and exposure the prerequisites. Lots to learn out there, and pass on .... then, this is one of the more promising facets of our internet.
