My guess is 'a-v-doh' (the 'doh' being pronounced like old man 'Simpson' in the cartoon! - or the stuff you bake bread with!).

Oh that's stupid, 'cos you can write it doe (as you have!)

    So I go for A-V-Doe

I've always pronounced it "eee-wee-doe"; hope that isn't bastardizing it too much. Then again, I've had few occassions when I've even needed to say it aloud. :D

    LOL...I've wondered this myself.

Is is " uh wee doe "?
    Is it " A WHY DOE "?
Is it " EE WHY DOE "?
Is it " uh WHY DOE" ?
Is it "uh WHY DO "?
Is it "EE WHY DO "?

    and on and on.....

Fish, you should know! You said "I think "eewidoe" comes pretty close"...but is that a long "I" or a short "i" (LOL)?

I also think Topper and Rich have a good point about the German "w" sounding like a "v".....

    In Belgium we say "e-wie-do".

FYI. American cats say "mew" or "miaow", while Belgian cats say "miauw", which proves that cats also speak different languages.
    I hope this helps. :)

Wow...I didn't expect this to turn into such a debate :D

I think I will just keep calling it uh-wee-doe.

    This might help..........maybe :)

    Dear xxxxx

thank you for your request and sorry for the late reply.

As we are a German company we are also not 100% sure how to pronounce it in
English. However, we think "eewidoe" should come pretty close.

    With best regards,

    Your ewido networks Support-Team
