Desktop Dictionary

I have been using Word Web, but now they want to charge or have me tell how often I fly. So I am looking for a free desktop dictionary.
Any suggestions?

WordWeb is fine if don't fly much (or just click that). Only notifies you once a year, so no problem for me.

 

Thanks, I installed the Sage. I also downloaded Wordweb again, and it did not aske me the questions.

But seriously, I HIGHLY recommend The Sage dictionary & thesaurus. Freebie non pareil!

 

TheSage is good, but found the following is quicker to load and has what I need.

While it is open, you can highlight a word in any text, ctrl+c (copy) and it will look it up automatically.

 

This works in Chrome or SRWare Iron.

 

For a quick check on words whilst on the net or OE, Thunderbird, I find this Tray Dictionary perfect. It is free and the small icon sits in the bottom right task bar always there, loaded at start.
Just click and enter your word, click the spyglass and up comes a definition.

Once checked, press Escape and it goes away.
Of course, you have to spell the word correctly.
No interruption of on-screen data or need for another tab.

Thanks again, All. I did not know there were so many good ones. I don't see how I could get along without one. I hate to misspell words even in a post. Also my typing is not great.

I used to use one that did not require correct spelling, but would give you the spelling if you spelled "dog" like "dawg". Not sure when I lost it. Sometimes the reason I look it up is I cannot spell it, and that makes it more difficult.
