Definition Updates

How often do you update your definitions for your security tools. For example Virus Scanner, Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy. Whatever tools you may use.

Very regularly....especially if things are a bit slow on Wilders......or if you are on one of your posting marathons!!

 

I check everyday and as they are released, so I update as I hate surprises of any kind.

 

I almost choked on my icecream, ROFLMAO

I check for updates every single day on first boot, takes 30 seconds to make sure security is up-to-date.

Hey Buckeroo

You and Cochise have kept me in stiches most every day. I shake so much that I have to make sure that I tighten the bolts on my chair often. Otherwise I would end up in the puddle of sprayed coffee.

First thing I do here is to check what Mr. Bell and his cohorts have provided and then quickly run down to 10-F to get my jollies. It's a hoot!

I check for updates for all my security programs every few hours, you can call me a update maniac.

 

My antivirus [nod] updates automatically as does my spywareblaster, all the rest of my security apps I check every other day for updates

 

Why so often?

It's my favourite habit too.

AV's every hour, and all other security programs every 2 or 3 hours.
And for extra security, I even have ProtoWall to protect me against everything that all other programs can't.
You never know, or?

Maybe I'm a paranoid person, and I need a Dr.Dr.Prof. to cure me?

I am one sick bird I guess. Updating is fun. some of it is on auto pilot. Others I of course do manual. If everything could be auto I would still do some manual. My friend Bellgamin, I forget his exact words but he likes manual even with auto availiable too. Maybe he'll join in and speak for himself.

Just a reminder anything that shows a date make sure it is getting done if it is set to auto. Sometimes stuff happens and updates hit a firewall...LOL.

I used to update all my programs religiously, but after using Firefox or IE/Proxomitron combo, I update adaware/spybot/Spywareblaster monthly now. I haven't had any nasties on my puter for about a year, so I got tired of weekly scans & checking for updates every day.

I do let my AV auto update every day. I guess that's where i'm still neurotic about security.

 

Realtime AV and AT scanner update automatically. Other progs I update when I see them in the Update Alerts section.

 

My realtime AV updates on it's own. I check usually check everyday for updates on all the other progs too.
