Yeah i already have sandboxie (The free version)

Im keeping both sandboxie and malwarebytes

I'm not sure about keeping ESET NOD32 antivirus and zemana antilogger
I'm thinking about replacing zemana antilogger with spyshelter but i dont know which one is better

I'd ditch Eset & get Emsisoft Anti-Malware (Realtime AV). But thats just me.

is this a good setup then?

Emsisoft Antimalware + MBAM + Sandboxie?

And which one is better spyshelter or zemana antilogger?

and should i let sandboxie run every program sandboxed?

    or:

Emsisoft antimalware + shadow defender + sandboxie + spyshelter?

First, Are you using the pro or free version of Malwarebytes?

Second, Are you using the paid for Zemana Antilogger or the Free Antilogger?

and if you're thinking about using SpyShelter, are you wanting to use the free version (32-bit only) or the paid (32 & 64 bit)?

To be honest, I would go with something like this.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware + Emsisoft Online Armor (Firewall) + Sandboxie

In my opinion, that right there is an amazing setup.

I like that one but without Spyshelter or the one suggested by Ty:

Emsisoft Anti-Malware + Emsisoft Online Armor (Firewall) + Sandboxie

Good Evening! Welcome to Wilders Msr or Madam Woooox...It all depends on Quality and Price...Free versus paid etc. You can't go wrong in my opinion with Emsisoft...a top notch Customer Focused Company...Fabian Wosar is a Credit in exemplifying a Customer First Focus. Like in life it's crucial to keep the company of Quality Individuals. Now I'm currently using WSA Security Plus...AppGuard...and Voodoo Shield super light and super effective in protecting your system. Now I might in the future purchase On Line Armour from Emsisoft...to integrate with EAM. There's a lot to choose from...and were here to assist you. Sincerely...Securon

If you ask for your own pc, not in working environment, I would forget Zemana antilogger and SpyShelter, needless to have too much security programs. An outbound firewall protection, as Jmonge says, a good av as Avast, for example, and Emsisoft Anti-Malware freeware for only on demand scan if you want a second chance. Sandboxie, sure, or better for me, AppGuard. You might want to take a look here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=111264, updated posts.

I think more is not always better. If the OS is Win 7 or Win 8, the native built-in Win Firewall plus an AV would do just fine. HitmanPro and HitmanPro.Alert could be thrown in for second opinion. A secure dns like Norton DNS would do just fine. Sandboxie could be used for browsing risky sites.

Backup plan is a must. Imaging app plus data backup to external drive or to the cloud is necessary.

    And you'd be fine. :):thumb:

Thanks everyone, I'm using windows 8 64bit and once i installed Emsisoft antimalware, Task manager just pops up and closes immediately, I believe it has something to do with the behavior shield, any solutions?

I don't think a firewall is necessary though

Windows 8, UAC set to max, Smartscreen activated, built-in Defender + Sandboxie (or AppGuard) is enough. Without Sandboxie i would definitely recommend Emsisoft Anti-Malware. Just make sure that Sandboxie covers all threat-gate applications. I see no need for "outbound protection" or whatever that means on a clean system. In my opinion your setup is fine. I would only upgrade to a licensed copy of Sandboxie in order to force certain apps to always run sandboxed.

There's more about tests in the AV section of Wilders:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32

But the numbers in those tests aren't everything, there are other issues with selecting an AV, such as slow-downs, false positives and conflicts with the other software you are running. Try out a few of the ones people use here and see which works for you.

To second what Amit said, it's a good idea to have an up-to-date system image in a safe place ready to go. And so far it seems that Emsisoft is a top recommendation here, which I can't argue with since I'm using it on-demand for a second opinion, with its Behavior Blocker running real-time.

is this a good security setup?

I don't think i need a firewall other than the windows 7 built in firewall

    but my setup is:
    Emsisoft AM (Real time)
    Sandboxie (Paid version)

Is this enough or would it be better to add/remove something?

WinFW, UAC, Sandboxie, native imaging, Windows Defender, MBAM Free & VT Hash Check for on demand 2'nd opinions via shell scans. Hitman Pro. Firefox with NoScript, ABP (EasyList & EasyPrivacy), HTTPS-Everywhere, and WOT.

If you feel better with a real-time AV with better detection rates, Avast Free instead of Defender.
