Wow, its been a while like, seriously a while. Just checked and its been 6 years since I last posted here. Even crazier that my account is still alive and kicking! Gotta say, impressed! that speaks volumes about this place In the meantime, i've been pretty active over on GitHub as Belim (aka builtbybel), working on a bunch of new projects. One Im super excited about right now is called Crapfixer and I wanted to give you all a quick heads-up What's Crapfixer? It’s a small, retro-style app inspired by classics like CCleaner but with a twist: it doesn’t clean... it fixes! Think of it as a fun little system tweaker for Windows 11. It helps you customize all kinds of stuff including things you usually see (and don’t see) during OOBE and beyond The app just hit its 1.0 milestone yesterday after two weeks in the wild Project page: https://github.com/builtbybel/Crapfixer Let me know what you think feedback, ideas, bug reports, so all welcome. And hey, feels good to be back
I had to override Smartscreen warning to get it to run, but this what it looks like on Windows 10 Pro. I won't run it, as you say it is for Windows 11.
@Tarnak the SmartScreen warning pops up just because the app is new and unsigned, not because its unsafe. youre welcome to run an analysis if you like nothing will break, and many checks work just fine on w10 too.
@Belim7 I couldn't work out this copy/paste the log into that window after I ran the analysis. But, somehow I got this:
the online log analysis is basically a polished-up display where you can see everything at a glance, copy it, share it, and more. In the Crapfixer app, just hit Ctrl + A to select everything, then Ctrl + C to copy, and paste it over there https://builtbybel.github.io/Crapfixer/log-analyzer/index.html
that should work: just click into the log window, hit Ctrl+A to select everything, then Ctrl+C to copy it
After you've copied the log from the Crapfixer app, you'll need to manually paste it into the optional online log page at https://builtbybel.github.io/Crapfixer/log-analyzer/index.html. Just hit Ctrl + C in the app to copy the log, then Ctrl + V to paste it on the website. The log generated by the app already contains everything you need. The online analyzer just gives it a bit more flair Hopefully the feature isnt too confusing. if it is, I might have to make the explanation a bit more user-friendly
Doing what you asked, this was all I could get: ❌ [ Issues ] Basic Disk Cleanup - Not configured as recommended. ➤ Temp folder size: 129 MB (We need also to include cleanmgr in the next run) I will have to wait for a "more user-friendly" explanation, then.
