How well would you rate it in terms of protection?
Is there much overlap with what im using?

Im using Avira Personal, Private Firewall, Sandboxie, Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor, OpenDns/Crypt

If you are browsing with Sandboxie there is no need for webguard, and if you download anything it can be monitored by Avira's main guard. I consider it an extra layer if you use Avira as your sole security.

I didn't installed Avira's webguard, because i always open my browsers sandboxed and for more peace of mind i have Bitdefender TrafficLight extensions.

Back when I used it in the Premium version, I found it slowed down my browsing too much for comfort, much more than Avast for instance. So I dumped it.

Understandable, one can wonder why it is hard for some vendors to develop a web protection module that doesn't slow things down, knowing that it is the most important layer in some products :doubt:

It helps a lot, but just not with all those extra security apps you are running now, an overkill frankly. You can safely turn it off in your case.
