Some AVs block the threats always and the interaction only mean subsequent actions.
In this test, I'm not sure if it means a dependent bypass or just a user interaction.

I will be more interested in the Webroot results once they start testing SecureAnywhere rather then the current set of Webroot products.

The F-Secure results surprised me especially when comparing them to the BitDefender results.

F-Secure blocked just 93.x %? Hard to believe. Trend Micro, the worst AV topped with 99.5%. Weird.

    Avira will always do well.
In spite of the dislike for Norton it continues to be at the top year in and year out.

do not forget, this month is small test set, only 187 links or something like.
IBK wrote in german forum they are adding new versions to the tests for the next month, so they have only small test this month

    Vipre=fast scano_O
Its light on resources that for sure but full scan here (160gb) takes 6 hr to complete with ~40% CPU consumption....o_O

    but that's OT...

Trend Micro: On-demand protection = worst
    On-line Protection = Best
As AVC dynamic test relies on on-line protection. Trend almost tops.

TM is one of the best when is comes to web protection. So it's not surprising at all.

See, I wouldn't buy Trend Micro just because of these results. I am satisfied with Avast right now despite how it did.

I wouldn't buy it either because of that (I was just saying why it scored so well). Since the rest of the product isn't that good.

i have to agree with both of you even though avast was down some this time i personally would not use trend micro. mainly because of the HORRIBLE experiences in the past with them though the new version is supposed to be better now. it def surprised me at how well they did in this test though.....

    im sorry:
    http://www.rokop-security.de/index.php?showtopic=21522
zusatzinfo: im Monat August wurde nur mit wenigen URLs getestet (nur 187). Also nicht allzuviel reininterpretieren.
In den anderen Monaten wird wieder mit einer größeren Anzahl getestet (im August gab es Schwierigkeiten durch die Aufnahme neuer Produkte bzw. Produktversionen).

you can see, only 187 links, because they have added new produkts for the next tests and this made some problems.
so i think we will see in the next monts more links and this means other rankings.

I agree, any plans to include behavioral tests?

What is the definition of 'user dependent' in those results? e.g. Avast lets the user choose to 'do nothing' quite often rather than 'go to jail, go directly to jail'. Is this what user dependent means here?

Hopefully they won't be like GFI \ Sunbelt (Vipre) and avoid AV-Comparatives.

avasts 'do nothing' option actually blocks access to the file thats detected regardless, its a very misleading option and something that ive complained about several time on their forums, clearly they didnt see why its misleading. Same thing happens when u press the "x" to close the popup window.

I agree with you it is misleading, just as Avira's "Always Ignore" is as well.

User-dependent in case of avast means the AutoSandbox offer (introduced in v6). This is internally connected to a more sensitive heuristics module.

I believe we are actually trying to get into the AV-Comparatives testing right now. From what I understand, they need to drop another company from the tests before including us due to resources. However, this is just what I heard. I don't work in the part of the company that deals directly with the testing organizations.
