Which is better in Windows 7 Ultimate for malware prevention?

    a) Applocker

    b) Sandboxie

I would go with Sandboxie because you have more flexibility with it IMO.

Or drop Applocker and use Sandboxie + SRP. :D

Have you tried AppLocker for executables and scripts, leaving SRP to dll's (Applocker overrules SRP), since dll's seem to cause the trouble.

First: Go for a default SRP (basic user as default level, admins excluded, DLL's included), try whether Sandboxie works

Next overrule SRP with AppLocker for executables. When that works add Scripts to, etc.

I also vote for Sandboxie. Virtualisation > rights restriction.

I think sandboxie is easier to set. But Applocker is free.

To answer the OP, it depends on what u need. My PC main usage is browsing.

    So using sandboxie :
I use portable browser (QTWeb) , the browser folder is sandboxed
Quick restore any download to the same folder.
All tight and secure, yet very easy to use :D
