Adaptive Restore

I have read about Paragon's Adaptive Restore in several places and am intrigued. Before I get my hopes up I would like to know if it will restore a archives of Win7 on a Dell MBR disk to an Hp8-1414 in which an MBR SSD is installed.

I do have a copy of Paragon's Hard Disk Manager Suite 12 but can't find anything about adaptive restore. Do I need to get an additional piece of software?

In PHDMS12 this feature is only on WinPE recovery media IMHO. Called 'P2P adjust OS'. First need to prepare a folder with the unpacked drivers. Deploy ('restore') the image to a new ssd, then inject drivers for the new hardware using the 'P2P adjust OS'

Thank you. I have the Media Builder ( Paragon HEE BMBInstallSNU) installed but have not yet made the disk. Will that disk do the job? If not, where do I get the WinPE?

Yes, that will make winpe media for you. It does require a large download from MS.

"Paragon WinPE Recovery Media Builder™ is a wizard that helps you prepare a WinPE-based bootable environment on a USB thumb drive. Containing a set of utilities corresponded to the purchased product, it will allow startup of your computer for maintenance or recovery purposes when OS is corrupted or cannot be used.

Unlike Boot Media Builder, WinPE Recovery Media Builder doesn’t require to have Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) or Automated Installation Kit (WAIK) installed in the system. However, it can only be used under Windows 7 or higher, and its functionality is rather limited."

 

I tried creating the Boot Recovery Media and it required the WAIK tools. Downloaded the 1+GB ISO from Microsoft and then extracted all the files to a directory. When the media builder requested the location of the WAIK tools I pointed it at the ISO. That failed so I pointed it to the directory with the extracted files and that failed also. There is nothing in the documentation that describes how to create the WinPE Restore DVD.

I then burned the "simple" restore media and copying a system image created with the HDMS 12. The restore failed.

The documentation describes and illustrates an adaptive restore with a P2P option. I've never seen this option in the simple restore media and can't create the so called Boot Recovery Media, so the suppowed adaptive process does not work.

Very frustrated with the product!

 

You need to install WAIK.

There is nothing wrong with Paragon.

That is the way microsoft chose to do it.
