hmm, 24h2/25h2 and share issues? not here.
i used 24h2 for Win11pro which is serving my files, i have no issues. using the EP (enablement package), still no issues. i wonder why this wrong message is still alive, and why people moan about without delivering facts.
i use 5 devices with a switch after a router, no smb1/2 active (because vulnerable). also my win10 machiens had no issues with 24h2 shares. i am pretty sure that such issues where user made.

I've already decided; Win10 + 0Patch, for the time being. Dual-boot with, probably Kubuntu.

I just installed updates for Windows 11 24H2 and Office 2024 and didn't encounter any visible problems.

Then I Installed 25H2 and it also installed without a problem.

Probably the last Win10 updates installed without issue here so far.

KB5066793 for Windows 11 23H2 failed twice and rolls back at 96% each time. Not sure why yet. Going to see if I can get this thing to 25H2 this weekend.

I updated my Windows 11 24H2 professional system to the latest October patch, and then upgraded to 25H2. Everything went smoothly. It might be a placebo effect, but 25H2 feels a lot snappier than 24H2.

I installed the October Update today on my Windows 10 Home operating system. It installed fine, and I am not experiencing any difficulties so far. I am also enrolled in ESU, so I can receive future updates. I am a happy camper.

Windows 10 with extended Updates enabled. (First security update under this scheme)

    KB5068781 Cumulative
    Malicious software removal tool

    Windows 11
    KB 5068861
Listed as a Security Update and not as a Cumulative (which makes it look like a Defender definition)

All updates installed and running ok so far after the reboot.

I'm not enrolled in extended updates, but my machine is currently downloading the Cumulative update + Malicious software removal tool.

If you reside in an EU country, MS is probably continuing w/updates regardless ESU status.

    Thanks for sharing!

I booted my old Windows 10 PC out of curiosity after seeing your post. It's now downloading:
    • Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based systems (KB5071959)
    • .NET 8.0.22 Update for x64 Client (KB5071066)
    • Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - v5.137 (KB890830)
I'm not enrolled in ESU, but have the option to enroll (which I did not do - yet?).
