One does not hire hackers and coders to look for fraud, one hires forensic accountants.

These crypto-creeps have copied govt. databases to private servers giving them access to home addresses, bank accounts, tax records, SSNs, private emails & personal files. This is a security and privacy nightmare for the clients of these agencies.

To rephrase old saying: who will audit the auditors?

The Washington Post/Ipsos poll showed that Americans disapprove of Musk “shutting down federal government programs that he decides are unnecessary” by the wide margin of 52 to 26. Sixty-three percent of Americans are worried about Musk’s team getting access to their data.

The courts have been inundated with lawsuits (over 300 to date), primarily focused on the insecure capture, storage & use of data records.
On Feb 21 a federal judge ordered the collection of private data at the Treasury Dept, be halted. The question is whether or not these federal court orders are being obeyed, as it is unclear who is in charge of all the activities being performed by DOGE 'engineers'.

This entire subject assumes absolute trust in those that already had access to this data. :isay:

One theory is that Musk needs access to this data because he's launching a payment system on Twitter/X. That's why they are trying to get rid of the CFPB, see link. Same goes for the adoption of crypto by the US government, this is only done to enrich themselves. I have never seen so much corruption before. :gack:

This is a VERY long article, but definitely worth reading. The security and privacy implications are staggering.
