For the month of November, PortableApps.com will have no ads. As many of you know, we had quite a few issues with our last ads provider. It resulted in accessibility issues, site slowdowns, breaking pages, etc. Behind the scenes, it also impacted digital certificate auto-renewals and some other minor bits. While the ad revenue was high initially, it declined as I turned off the most intrusive behaviors to wind up at the same lower level we were at before trying it.

I wanted to apologize for those impacted by the trial, particularly if it prevented you from getting access to or support for your favorite apps. This ad pause is both a breather for users and an experiment to see if donations see an uptick without any ads. I'll keep an eye on things and report back as we move ahead.

FYI. PortableApps.com Platform 30.0: Exclude Apps From Updater, Speed, Security, and Stability

New in 30.0
This update adds the ability to optional exclude apps from automatic updates. Just uncheck the apps you don't want updated while updating a group of apps. On next run, those apps will remain unchecked and the automatic updater run on startup won't prompt to update if excluded apps are the only apps with updates. Delphi has been updated to the latest release improving speed and stability. 7-Zip has also been updated. The access violation bug on startup that affected some users has been fixed.
