    Hi.
    It doesn't cause problems here either. A little slow to load but it works.

    Does anyone know hot to clear only Form and Search History in Firefox, instead of clearing the entire browsing history? They've changed the options several versions ago, they're less granular compared to before

    There is a workaround, using about:config.
    I haven't tried it. I don't know when Mozilla will remove this preference from about:config.

    In about:config, set privacy.sanitize.useOldClearHistoryDialog to true.

    this switch will be removed in future, dont expect too much. and the data behind is already migrated, so at any time expect data loss. it does not matter if that switch is present now for 5 major versions.
    to read jefferson:
    if you want delete history only then go library and delete there. or use an extension as there exist at least one. to delete form data open the form, chose one and delete no proper data with shift+delete.

    form data and also search history are (official) part of history since v128 stable (in nightly 128 it started). further - in settings > privacy you can exclude history, but save form data. and this works without manual cleaning or cleaning on shutdown.

    @Brummelchen,
    Thanks. I guessed search and form history was in History, but I didn't find form history in History, nor any search history results. A few minutes later, I realized that was because in settings I disabled "Remember search and form history".
    @3x0gR13N,
    I am with Brummelchen, History may be the best option for clearing search and form history, instead of using the about:config workaround.

    for the record - bugzilla:

    they may invent a more granular form. date unknown.

    Thanks for the replies, I have disabled the option to remember search and form history and deleted the search history entries via the about:config workaround (Shift+Delete on entries is also a useful option)

    I have a question about the ability to run multiple versions of Firefox side by side.

    I have one version installed in the Program Files folder and another one installed on the desktop. Is it true that they will now be able to run side by side (with own settings, bookmarks and extensions) without any problems?

    Actually, I have also installed a third version, this is the Firefox Portable version, but it won't open if you already have another instance of Firefox running, I wonder what this is all about. The other two (non portable versions) open just fine together.

    you dont need to grab portables to run several versions side by side.
    since each installation get its own profile - dedicated profiles based on installation path - you also need not to think about seperated profiles, it will come automatically. but - NEVER mix up profiles with several versions as it ends up in data loss. and, you should only set one of them as default browser.

    for the portable starter from p-apps - crappy code from my view - concerning firefox, there exist better*. nevertheless it has a switch in INI file to start it again which means you pass only parameters to the currrent instance, or start another portable (another firefox portable also need this switch to run).

    in comparison to installed versions the portable dont work with the profile.ini, hence it has no option to create new profiles or switch profiles. and the portable is not able to run as default browser otherwise it creates profiles.ini and new profiles. thats why users, which make the portable default, are missing their profiles due this. there exist a tool to make the ()only one) portable default browser, buts that silly, the better way is a regular installation then.

    advatage profiles.ini - you can point a profile to any path, also an existing portable profile.

    currently i have 6 versions installed, from 115esr x64/x86 up to v135 nightly, each its own profile, but only one default, no starter. i dont use them all, only for helping out in case of issues.

    firefox.exe -p <profilename> <-no-remote>

    * a good starter is able to find its own firefox instance, to start or pass parameters, or if different - to start its own instance. aso. without an ini file, only a little extra code.

    DNT is optional, but as you wrote none cared.
    but "Global Privacy Control" is mandatory, not only because its part of CCPA.
