Thank you. I thought my machines were going mad :D

Everything was okay when I updated on Edge to 1.61 on my Win 10 machine yesterday, so today I went to update my Win 11 and that's when I got that screenshot. Checked the Win 10 machine to see if the error showed there too and it did.

    Confirmed.
But if you do a partial search you can get the available extensions indicated by the arrow:

True, but I've never had to do just a partial search before.
    Anyway thanks for your input.

How do you remove errors in uBlock Origin?
Example in Easylist it's showing 8 errors (invalid filters)

I don't think you can remove those errors (invalid filters), as they are in the filter list.
And I don't know why these errors are in certain filter lists.

If you were to replace EasyList with AdGuard - Ads, I see that list has not 8, but 22 errors.

no strict handling for abp rules - that one is noticed, but the other abp-contains is well?
on the other side ublock does not support contains() any longer it seems, there exist no entry in the list.
    https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Static-filter-syntax
and adguard is not supporting has-text()

Thanks. I also noticed Built-in uBO filters - Privacy contains 11 errors which seems unusual.

My filters - uBlock Origin uses CodeMirror's widget to freely edit your filters as plain text.
Additionaly uBO uses also syntax highlighter (linter) to detect warnings and errors in your
    filters (and in filter lists).

I do have a custom list in My filters so I'm assuming if there are any errors they would show?

There is also - Allow custom filters requiring trust to check or leave unchecked.

    Thanks for that information, nicolaasjan.
Yes, I understand uBlock Origin ignores invalid filter rules.
However, in the two uBlock issues threads, there were many posts to sift through, and I did not know what information to look for.

Thank you for the information, Brummelchen.
I made a note of the uBlock Origin, AdGuard, and Adblock Plus filter syntax differences, concerning :has-text(), :contains(), and :-abp-contains().
If in future I would ever need to import my uBlock Origin filter rules in AdGuard, I hope the knowledge regarding the syntax differences would help me if I need to modify some filter rule that has :has-text() in it.

My experience is that when I create and modify a filter rule in uBlock Origin "My filters" and I create an invalid filter rule, the error is shown in red. So yes, errors do show.

As in the uBlock Origin Wiki I cannot find information regarding the "Allow custom filters requiring trust" option in the "My filters" pane, I will quote a post that is at reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin, What is "Allow custom filters requiring trust"?
"Trusted scriptlets are powerful and can potentially do some damage if you blindly copy them from some random sources. These filters will be marked invalid (as a safety precaution) if the option is not selected."

Therefore, keep the "Allow custom filters requiring trust" option in the "My filters" pane unchecked, not selected, as a safety precaution.

I'll check later with Win11. Any chance that yours was a local/temporary problem?

    @Stupendous Man (Post #8537)

I did have that box in "My filters" unchecked and also do not see any errors in
my custom filters. Thanks, good to know.

Another question regarding what's allowed and blocked.

Is everything that is color coded green allowed/permitted
and everything color coded yellow blocked in uBO?

    Example: youtube.com#@# (same line)

    youtube.com (color coded yellow)
    #@# (color coded green)

If you have filter rules in uBlock Origin "My filters" that you created using the element picker, I suppose you know what those rules are meant to block or hide. If you copy rules from some other source, or if you create rules yourself, it is your responsibility to know what they are for and what they do.

I know little about filter syntax.
For filter syntax, you can take a look at these sources:
    https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Static-filter-syntax
    https://adguard.com/kb/general/ad-filtering/create-own-filters/
    https://help.adblockplus.org/hc/en-us/articles/360062733293-How-to-write-filters

Regarding #@#, based on the above sources, I understand it is meant to make exceptions.
Perhaps someone else can tell you more about it.

uBlock Origin 1.61 is now available for Firefox, no longer pending.

    (Firefox/ Extensions/ Manage extensions/ Tools for all add-ons (cogwheel)/ Check for Updates/ uBlock Origin 1.61.0 is offered)

I used Ubloc for years and loved it, but then Chrome said it would no longer be supported. Has that been resolved?

If you want to uBlock Origin in Chrome, it will need to be uBlock Origin Lite
    https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBOL-home

However if you want to keep using the “original” uBlock Origin, then you can use it on Firefox or Brave (Chromium browser)

    @Compu KTed,
There were no further replies to your questions.
Other forums may be more responsive to questions regarding filter syntax.
    Have you considered Reddit?
I noticed there were quite a few filter syntax questions, and users seem eager to help.

I'm using 'ghost' as an alternative, then installing an extension to make something work, but it does not seem worthwhile.
Why the the conflict and why not adapt upgrade ublock to work natively in a very popular browser?
