Well at least 1 of my laptops IS Windows 11. HOWEVER i have a pair of Windows 10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021 which will be good into the 2030's. No EDGE No store and runs like a DREAM. THAT is MY reason and i am glad of this investment compared to 11 by leaps & bounds.

I will update to W11 when I buy a new computer in the fall, its time, current desktop is 13 years old but still runs perfectly.

I don't see why anyone would not update eventually, not the brightest idea to be running an unsupported OS.

In the meantime, I have bought a new PC to be able to upgrade to Windows 12. :D

It's all a racket anymore, rushing Windows series ahead before refining releases people already had a short time. But strange as it may seem, i am looking past 11 (especially 24H5) in anxious anticipation of Windows 12 as @TairikuOkami mentioned. I will buy a BRAND NEW computer in 2025 that hopefully will easily support Windows 12 if it hasn't come out yet by the time that i do.

I voted other. My laptop with Win 10 (which Microsoft claims is unsupported for Win 11) will remain with 10 but won't be connected to the internet. I plan to buy a desktop for web access, along with my phone, but will run Zorin OS on it.

This will be the case for one of my laptops too, which runs an unsupported CPU. It will be useful for playing some DVDs & Bluray discs (it has an inbuilt optical drive), as well as doing some photo & video editing with tools that do not require an internet connection. It has a 17inch 4K screen & 2.25TB inbuilt storage, so it is perfect for this. It's a Gigabyte P37x circa 2015 - it was released with the first version of Win 10. She still runs beautifully. :)

Couple of these systems can run W11 using the Rufus tool. I have W11P running on a 2014 ThinkPad T540P.

I chose the 'switching to Linux' option as I have 'evolved' into a Linux user. This has taken a long time.
I never liked anything 'doze' after XP and I felt that (in some respects), even it lost something, after 'doze' 2000.
I felt that their was an attitude change, things got sort of 'gimmicky', patronizing and 'cartoon-ish'
I don't like the pressure that these commercially driven operating systems subject their users to, or their
'Innovate to dominate' philosophy which leaves the consumer/user hopping from foot to foot in a constant state of anxiety.
I want a usable operating system that designed for and has a focus on consistent 'everyday' use, and meets my requirements for consistency and stability, not the requirements of an all absorbing power hungry entity which creates constant instability in/by it's processes.
I don't like being bullied by those who are insistent (by hubris), on creating/moulding and enforcing our everyday norms to meet their own agenda and (by increment) to our detriment.
To me, computers and operating systems are tools made for humans. We should always run them and not they us.
I don't want (as an enforceable requirement) to have to carry a smart phone everywhere, have a pc, that is not my own, or to be in a constant state of 'upgrade', or threat of such.
I suppose that I am, a sort of, present day 'Luddite', I want to own the things in my life and not be owned by them or their makers.

That's my concern actually. My desktop is 13 years old and I fear that if I buy anything before 12 comes out there will be new specs required that it may only partially meet. When Windows 11 was released there were plenty of new PCs being sold that would not run it.

Just about any PC 12 years old or newer can have W11 installed. Just takes the Rufus method or other methods. M$ put artificial requirements on installing W11 just to sell new hardware with their hardware partners that they feed off eachother.

Slowly migrating to Linux. Have been using it on my tablet for some time now and it does the job just fine. I know my Thinkpad w530 could run Win11, but am completely not interested in getting into the Microsoft/Rufus war, that MS will likely win one day (as they usually do).

My main machine is with Windows 11 (almost 2 years) and never had the slightest problem. I have a second computer occasionally used by my wife with Windows 10 and officially cannot be upgraded to Win 11 because of hardware specifications. Even though I could bypass them and upgrade to Win 11, I won't do it as I think there wouldn't be any real advantage. I like both operating systems, although the latest is always the greatest...

I'm on W11 23H2, which I will remain on till sometime in 2025-2026. No rush to get to 24H2.

I have an old iPad Air 1st Gen that I may try to run Linux on, just to get a feel for it.

same for me. Windows 8, 10 or whatever are just numbers to me. And at the end I’m not “using” Windows but the Software that are on my computers.

Yep, besides users like on Wilders really have no choice, as far as security goes, using an outdated OS is out of question and 10 is almost dead. Thus far 11 still allows some customizations, by default 11 has 150 processes, mine has 70. :p
