I have not posted on Wilders for a long time. To date, I have been using Proton VPN. But, shortly, they will no longer support Android 7, which I am currently running on my Galaxy Tab. Having done some research, I am giving NordVPN some serious consideration. Does anyone have any comments on NordVPN?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I hooked up with Surfshark several years ago and switched to Nord roughly 6 months ago. When my license expires with Nord, I'll probably switch back to Surfshark... depending on what deal I can swing for a 2+ years license.
Absolutely zero complaints with either app. It's been a while since I've leisurely checked out Proton VPN reviews. Unless significant improvements have changed with Proton in the interim, you'll probably be blown away with
either Nord and/or Surfshark in terms of pure satisfaction with sailing through multiple movies with nary a buffering issue. As always, YMMV.

    Happy hunting.

I don't trust nord, or any vpn that uses a proprietary protocol. It's not standard, you can't but it on a router, and it hasn't been verified by a third party. Nope. I don't trust nordlynx.

Many thanks for all your replies.

So, mixed views on NordVPN. Would anyone care to suggest an alternative VPN that would be compatible with Android 7?

I note that Lagavulin16 suggested SurfShark, which I will check out.

    IVPN
Works with Android 6 and up.
A little pricey but one of the better ones out there IMO.

I've also had good experiences with AirVPN and Mullvad, but not on Android though. AirVPN supports Android 5.1 and higher. Mullvad only 8 and higher, but you can use their Wireguard or OpenVPN config files in another app.
I would not use Android 7 at all, security support ended 5 years ago. Maybe you can use a newer version with a custom rom.

Thanks again for all your feedback.

Regarding Android 7, I'm in the process of upgrading the OS - so this is just an interim measure.

Mullvad is another good choice if you are upgrading your OS, runs on Android 8 and up.
A little less expensive than IVPN.

I use linux as well as windows and need a VPN to run on all devices. I tried Nord but they do not have a GUI to set up the VPN in linux. Yes, they do have a setup utility that can be accessed in terminal, but that is not acceptable in this day and age. If they have no desire or the time to develop a GUI, then I have no time or desire for them.

Mullvad and Proton do make a GUI so I will stick to them (I am currently using Mullvad).
