New version released SpyShelter 15.2.0.712 What’s new? SpyShelter now natively supports ARM devices! UI enhancements due to user feedback. Stability improvements due to user feedback and reports. https://www.spyshelter.com/download/
A bit surprising that they made it compatible with ARM. I would rather see them making it compatible with older versions of Windows 10. Also, still no new features? And I'm also surprised that they still claim that keystroke encryption won't come back because of technical changes to Win 10/11, while KeyScrambler still exists?
Another minor SpyShelter update coming in the next week https://forum.spyshelter.com/t/spyshelter-15-2-0-712-now-available-upgrade-now/154/9
OK I see, but it probably won't have support for older Win 10 Home systems, major bummer. Also, I just saw on the forum that they have decided not to implement a keystroke encryption feature, and KeyScrambler also hasn't been updated in a year, so perhaps Win 11 really did break this feature. On the other hand, I remember about this app named GhostPress, which has found a way to block keyloggers without needing to use a driver, so perhaps they can look into this. https://schiffer.tech/ghostpress.html
SpyShelter 15.2.0.722 (27/Aug/2024) Minor UI fixes due to user feedback. https://spyshelter.com/download/
SpyShelter 15.2,0,801 https://spyshelter.com/download/ Fixed a bug that could cause SpyShelter to not work correctly for non-admin Windows accounts. Made a change so paid users won’t accidentally lose some event history in case of an accidental or unexpected deactivation to a free user. Improved support for Windows 11 Version 24H2.
Kudos to the forward-looking SpyShelter team. At first I gave this a "yawn" as I wasn't aware of how many Windows laptops have a Snapdragon under the hood. Though the ARM for Windows hadn't full escaped my notice over the last year or so. And this month's issue of Maximum PC has a focus on it, especially in light of Intel's Core Ultra and AMD's Kraken Point. I'm looking to replace my i5-2430M, demoted to single task management of my Netcomm XIA-IFWA-40 cellular thingamajig. Looking for 14" and less, I was considering the Thomson NEO Z3 (Model WWZ313Q8508T256), a bargain at Best Buy's $299. Until the fine print revealed Win11 S mode; good for MS 365 and not much else. Sigh... That said, going ARM would be in need of abandoning GlassWire.
I used SpyShelter free: few minutes ago I decide to upgrade to the pro version, and I found in the Site a discount promotion, SpyShelter Pro at 29,9 $ instead of 39,9: you have to klick on Buy Pro and you should see the discount offer. I ignore when it will espire.
Is this still a yearly fee and has SS 15 been improved in recent months? I still haven't been able to check it out since it won't run on older versions of Win 10. But from what I've seen, it's not as good as SS 12.
I can't say because previously I used the free, much limited version, and I don't rember the trial period of version 12.
It's missing certain features, and the GUI isn't that great either. But keep in mind, I have never actually used it yet, so perhaps it has been improved in the mean time.
It's missing anti keylogger feature, which is crucial protection component for me. Especially many "stealer" malwares that can log your keystrokes. Keyscrambler Personal is good, it scrambles your web browser keystrokes, but it lacks it's own self process protection, so any malware coder can "hardcode" to kill keyscrambler. One variant could be G Data, which does have a strong anti keylogger feature. However, by default it does protect some major browsers, notepad etc, but you can manually add processes to it. I added steam.exe login. And it does have better "process termination" protection than Keyscrambler. But yes, old Spyshelter antikeylogger was really, really good.
Yes, it has no keystroke encryption and no code injection detection. Also no ''man in the middle'' banking trojan protection. I don't know if this is because certain limitations in Windows 11. I also miss the network monitor from SS Firewall 12, I use this everyday to get a quick overview of apps that are connected.
https://www.spyshelter.com/help/SpyShelter-Changelog#1530898-12mar2025 15.3.0.898 (12/Mar/2025) Added a quarantine button in the UI on the left of the app name to make it easier to quickly quarantine apps. Removed the registry protection module due to user feedback. Updated app insights with more recent data. Fixed a bug where cameras and mics would show they were in constant use, when they were not. Fixed a bug for SpyShelter Pro and Ultimate rebills that could cause the activation code to stop working. https://spyshelter.com (download)
BTW, lately I have been active on the SpyShelter forum (as RasheedHolland), the goal is to get as many features back from SS 12 as possible. The problem is that according to the developers, Win 11 made some technical changes, so that's why they don't offer features like anti-keylogging yet. And most users were not that happy with removing the registry monitoring module, so they might bring it back.
Last month, Carl mentioned about two upcoming updates.... Quote: "We’re coming up with a very minimal update shortly, then we’ll have a big update in the next month or so with major new features!" I believe that 15.3.0.898 is the 'minimal' update. Curious to see as far as what the 'big update' might offer.
They have a 50% discount on their order page https://www.spyshelter.com/purchase Not sure how long it's available for.
Yes, apparantly it's going to be a redesign. They said it will focus more on visibility, not sure what this means. In my view, SS should be focused on behavior blocking. I mean, process and network monitoring is cool, but monitoring doesn't block actual malware attacks, know what I mean?
Hello, I got 50% discount offer but when I clicked on "View discount offer" the 50% discount is only for Spyshelter Ultimate while for Spyshelter Pro the discount is 25%. It's still too expensive for me because with 25% discount I should pay yearly 33,56 €, VAT 22% included as I live in Italy. Furthermore the Pro subscription is for 3 devices and I have only 1 device to protect. Some months ago I asked on their official forum if they could offer Pro subscriptions for 1-device only, implied at a lower price, without success, evidently. https://forum.spyshelter.com/t/adding-subscriptions-for-1-device-only/161
