As seen HERE, Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge] "ShowRecommendationsEnabled"=dword:00000000
I prefer HCU because I use a Standard account. Not to mention that I prefer to manually add/edit policies. It is also good to know that there are some policies that do not follow the same registry path. However, it is the same.
In that case, the .reg file will be: Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge] "ShowRecommendationsEnabled"=dword:00000000

I'd like to see automatic translation when I visit a webpage with a different language other than English or Spanish. This feature is not currently present.
I get translate options, I believe you can also have options like here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/features/translate?form=MA13FJ
Thanks, I was thinking more like chrome's settings. One can add as many languages as one wish to automatically translate without asking one by one. This is a very useful feature when one is setting up a new computer or alike: Also one can exclude any language.

Does anyone know of a setting or flag that can be used to tell Edge to stop giving suggestions? It seems like everyday I get one. Its very annoying. I always run browsers sandboxed (except for updates), this makes it even more annoying as some suggestions give a way to dismiss them but to do so it has to be done outside the sandbox. So, I have to open the browserunsandboxed and try to trigger the annoyance, and then dismiss it. Other suggestions don't give a way out, like the one I have been getting for the past couple weeks. This one has to do with Search. It seems Edge wants the user to set Search as MS wants and stop me from setting Search up as I want. I dont even use Edge for searching. Hardly ever have I searched for anything using Edge. I use Edge for about 3 hours a day for an specific purpose. It appears to me the only way to stop being annoyed is to open the pages I need to use Edge for, and not open anything else. Bo
@Mr. X Thanks. But I don't think those flags are available anymore. I can not see them. Perhaps there is a new one. If someone can tell me, please help. Bo
It can be turned off in the Edge settings three ways. The settings are under "Language" and the feature is called "text prediction". Second method is set the writing assistance to Basic. This disables the text prediction. Jan 15, 2023.
Correct, the flags are not available anymore. MS has a sneaky one I got again today to use MS's preferred settings for search tracking. There is no option to decline. If users choose "Got it" or close the flyout, it will switch on MS' system-wide optional diagnostics setting.
@bo elam @Sampei Nihira I have these policies set: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#diagnosticdata https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#personalizationreportingenabled https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#searchsuggestenabled https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#showrecommendationsenabled
@Bertazzoni Thanks. But I cant find them in here: edge://flags/ Or, is this something that to change it, the change has to be done in the Registry? Bo
Hi Dragon1952 I am not sure if this reply from you is for me, but if it is, thanks. The settings you mention dont sound like they have anything to do with getting rid of the annoying suggestions, but I am willing to try almost anything to get rid of them, so I will make the switch to Basic. I already have the Text prediction setting turned off. Bo
