If you don't have any issues, then you don't have to do anything.

If the top bar is red you might have issues with YouTube.
If so, update the Quick fixes list, either from within uBO itself, or by clicking on that button "Update uBO Quick fixes", which will lead you to an intermediate page:

Then, when you click on "Click to update your filter lists", the Quick fixes list will be updated (just checked and it did so).

 

i dont have that green boxes. (all marked for visibility)
and it do not change with uBo disabled for that page.
i needed to let pass different elements from githubusercontent and an APP domain in a secondary blocker.
then the answer was "yes" with two identical token. thank you for the image pointing the essential out.

APP (and other) is denied by default in uBo (were malicious in the past, and currently also), github is trustworthy? (a bit theoretical and rhetorical, sorry)
media elements > 5mb are blocked, this also happens/happend to github for user videos to explain problems.

 

In this case 'pastefy.app' is safe.

It fetches a list (raw txt file) of YT ever changing 'desktop_polymer.js' (8.5MB!) URLs, where the last one is the one currently handled by uBO.

Yes, here you can see YouTube updated its script less than one hour ago (EST) and no surprise: I'm not getting the number of notifications over the bell icon at the moment. I'll see if there's an update to the quick fixes list but it's not nearly as urgent as when getting that horrible banner over the video player.

Did see popup for Youtube Premium. You could select option of No thanks
or 1 month free. Have not seen ads yet while using uBO.
Nothing yet about ad blockers not allowed or ad blockers violate TOS popups.

 

Disable 'Improve YouTube!' and went back to Enhancer for YouTube, February 2, 2024. For the enhancements not for ad-blocking.

I've see that occasionally before I log in. I first though maybe the clean up on exit of Firefox was exceptionally good. Normally it just loads up recommendations based on location. I personally would like to see that every time.

 

A bit of a late reply, but this site told me YES, so I should have no problems. And I also haven't seen the message since then. Perhaps my uBlock filters were updated or something. I do know that strangely enough when I did see the message a month ago, I turned off uBlock and enabled Vivaldi's adblocker, and that fixed it.

 

Well, that's new!

uBO + Firefox's tracking protection enabled, I was just forced to watch an ad before my live stream would play. Refresh tab (F5), same again!

uBO filter lists were up to date.

 

BTW, seems that YouTube is still trying to battle with uBlock. I didn't see any anti-adblock message, but all of a sudden it started to play video-ads, but after updating my filterlists, all was good again. However, YouTube was not correctly displayed, but hopefully it was just a glitch. And Vivaldi's adblocker also couldn't block the ads this time.

 

Kicking a dead horse but I would be more sympathetic if they stopped demonetizing creators and still running ads on their channels. If someone is allowed to continue to have a channel they should get paid.

 

YT will argue that they are providing a FREE platform for your business/content.
How and if you monetise it is your problem.
It's just an extension of web hosting.

Agree. They should at least, if YouTube demonizes a channel due to "dislike" of content, not run ads on it at all. I follow a few creators who do not monetize, their choice, I still see occasionally see ads on their channel. You tube has also kicked up the number of ads shown too. In some cases changing "skip" to "next".

 

I've had some streaming issues on YouTube lately, where the video will either just stop playing and I get a spinning circle, or it will start playing at an earlier time.

Pre-recorded videos haven't been affected, so far, just live stream videos.

I am regularily seeing the issue posted at #194 and #212 now too.

 

I haven't had any YouTube issues so far. Knock on wood.

 

Kees1958 posted a list of filters specifically for YT.
It seems to me that entered in UBO returns non-compatibility errors.
But I may be wrong.

A network error prevented the resource from being updated.
List won't load into uBO 1.57.2 under Custom filters list.
4 filters are invalid and 4 filters requires trusted source is what I see.
