I haven't been as active as a lot of you folks, but I joined November 21, 2013. BTW guys. I need some discussion. Can ya all go to the following post? https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/svchost-and-vpns.452319/#post-3161131
Only 14 years for me. Great to see some of the "older" ones still around, whether active or just lurking. @bellgamin it's fantastic to see you still posting, however occasionally. Your travails from Windows to Linux I read with interest, and seek to follow one day soon. Mahalo!
Next year I'm also hoping to make it to 20 years on this forum, who would have thought. But it's cool in a way that after so many years we are still interested in IT security and software in general, it's a nice hobby.
20 years for me now.Been using linux mint for a good few years now ,dont use antiviruses or any thing really on it so gradually grew apart from the wilders ocmmunity.Stuck windows 7 back on two weeks ago.Took me three days to get all the updates there was ,and been playing with old software for fun.The mrs is doing her nut as i ve been on this pc ,messin about, more than in the last 5 years .Goold old windows.Id forgotten the feeling of bsods ,and regular reinstalls.
Made it to 10 years on this forum. One of the members gave me a paid security app years ago for Microsoft Windows as a gift which was a blessing. Never forgot that. I've learned a lot here and I do appreciate all the help over the decade. Thanks to WSF and all it's members.
Congrats to everyone and cool that you guys are still active on WSF. Well, except for ellison64 perhaps.
Since at the moment of my reply just now, I see your user pic on 9 of the 12 recent threads... I think you made it.
I've been on this forum from around 2008 and was brought here by Nod32. I believe it was version 2.7. For last ten years I use my current forum name. Time sure flies...
When looking back at my earliest posts today on my profile etc, I find 2010 but (as I remember) I had been a member of the forum from much earlier than that. Maybe some of the older posts have been deleted because of a 'thinning' or Wilders forum upgrade. As I remember, my joining Wilders was when the first 'rollback' type programs were introduced and there was a lot of discussion at that time about the instability and also hopes for those programs. When Shadow Defender first came out I was ready and eager for that type of program and became an early member of Tony's first own Shadow Defender forum. I was, though, a Wilders viewer, for a time, before I ever became a member.
Jan 2024 makes it 14 years for me. I stopped posting about 3+ years ago due to health problems. Did not expect to be back. Luck maybe! Going forward, my posts will be sporadic. My viewing of other people's posts will not be. Tnx to all.
