    Hi, I run chrome in normal windows and chrome in sandboxie.

    I can't figure out why the sandboxie version mimics the non sandboxie version. Meaning when I open it, it opens all the tabs and windows and history from the non sandboxie version.

    Is there anyway to make the sandboxie version function independently? This way tabs etc all specific to that sandbox

    By default, Sandboxie reads files on the host machine and saves changes to the sandbox. If you want it to start from scratch, add the following setting to your configuration.

    Try adding the following line to the sandbox configuration. (Sandboxie.ini)

    Sandboxie-Plus > Right click on the sandbox > Sandbox Options > Edit ini Section > Add the line at the bottom > OK
    Code:
    WriteFilePath=%LocalAppData%\Google\Chrome\User Data

    That's interesting. I did not know this - or better: I never thought about this. Obviously because I always use (and prefer) it in the way which according to busy's explanation is the default one: I like it that whatever happens in my browser outside Sandboxie (this is not very much :D) will remain when I run the browser the next time within Sandboxie. For me this is of importance primarily for updating the browser (and its add-ons): These updates I always perform outside Sandboxie and I regard it as very useful that I can be sure that they are kept whenever I start the browser within Sandboxie (which I do as a rule). The same applies to some details of minor importance as the keeping of my preferred settings for using YouTube.

    So (if my consideration is correct) users who prefer the alternative way (as described in the above postings) should be aware that possibly they use an outdated browser within Sandboxie (unless they perform the updates within Sandboxie).

    Yup, years back I had that happen. The sandbox use to be self contained and the updates wouldn't work unless applied from outside the sandbox. Also extensions in chrome. Then they made the change. But now I have a few different task and just want to use the sandbox for 1 task, shut it down, then come back when I need to and get all my windows back. I stopped Chrome updates now. I can't stand them anymore. The new ui moved buttons around added other bloat etc.
