If you're going to store data in the cloud keep a local copy and/or use multiple services. I don't trust any of them to not lose my stuff, I think they all have lost customer data at some point. OneDrive lost some of my stuff once, fortunately I had copies.
Yes good point, you should always have a local based back up of your most important files. But I must say that I didn't expect this from a company like Google.
I would like that someone with more authority told it admins in a company I am working in. They pushed everybody to sync whole My Documents directory with OneDrive, a no other backup is being done... To be fair code is of course stored in Git repositories, so it is outside of Microsoft's cloud sync/backup reach. Also final versions of official documents are stored in internally operated digital directory. But there lots and lots of information across the teams that didn't manage into official documents, not to mention personal* work-related notes of each and every worker. *Personal, but still related to job role and thus stored by means provided by employer
