I'm guessing it didn't find anything to list, where can this portable be downloaded?
Might be similar to an other issue with Product name not properly filled by the original developer of that tool.

In this case I'd say if the "folder" listed as portable shows up empty (read all is pre-filtered)it should be removed from the tree @Tigzy

I downloaded today's beta and had a problem.

After the first time I scanned the Installed and Portable tabs were both empty, blank windows.

I scanned again and the windows populated correctly.

With the latest beta sorting no longer works for me on the Portable tab. Clicking on a column heading doesn't do anything.

It appears to be a problem related to the column widths getting reset to default. If the column is narrower than the contents of that column, sorting doesn't work for me. If I make the column wider than the contents of the window, then sorting works fine.

Edit: even that doesn't always work. After making the column wider, I can sort. Then when I make the column narrower, I can still sort. Very strange.

Edit: See below. I was clicking on the Program column by mistake and should have been clicking on the File column.

    Hi there,
I don't know if the cases are the same, but I have a similar situation when I've used exclusion criteria on an object.

Column widths seem to be getting reset to default after every scan. They don't seem to be "sticky" anymore.

That was it. I forgot that I had excluded it (because there aren't going to be any updates anyway). As soon as I changed the filter to show excluded items, it showed up.

    Thanks!

Sorry... I had an exclusion set on the program. I guess this hides the details line, but not the "folder" line. I have the filter set to not show excluded items.

    Hi Bill H:

If you are on the Portable tab you can only sort by the far-left FILE column to sort the folder names where your portable apps are located. See Tigzy's post # 972 about the limitations of sorting information on the Portable tab that is displayed as a tree view (i.e., vs the Installed tab where information is displayed in a table).

For some reason the default sort order for folder names is currently Z to A, not A to Z.

    @Imacri

Thanks. I thought I was clicking on the File column, but I guess I must have been clicking on the Program column. It seems to be working for me if I make sure I am clicking on the File column. Thanks for your help.

Am I the only one with this problem? If the portable app has sub-folders, the exe files in the root are not displayed:

And it would be great if it would be possible to exlude complete folders and not only files... But it's only a nice to have!

I installed the latest UCheck beta in my Portable folder where all my portable programs reside. Each program is in it's own subfolder. All the rest of my portable programs are showing in UCheck on the Portable tab except for UCheck.

    Any ideas why?

I seem to have the same results, however it DOES show up if I type in the name in the filter box.
Can you try to see if it returns a result then?

It seems there is a small bug here, it's located under the "second" NirSoft folder which is selected as subfolder in the tree view.

The other columns do sort, but only the results not the folder tree structure.
But if you sort on e.g. version it sorts the found binaries in a folder by version etc for the other columns.

Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. It sounds like you mean it sorts the files within a folder in order based on the column you are clicking on. All of my folders only have one file in them so that may be why clicking on the other columns isn't doing anythingo_O

Correct for that to show anything visually you need at least two binaries in one folder node of the tree view.

In this case it doesn't have to do with the folder structure, the file isn't considered a portable application according to UChecks current logic.

If I place this file in a dedicated folder it doesn't get reported either.

Maybe you are right. I tried to figure out the filters but I can't find the logic behind it. E.g. Wireshark Portable is a real Portable App. All executables in the subfolders are displayed.
E.g. Wireshark.exe in a sub-folder is displayed but WiresharkPortable64.exe in the root is missing. I am lost...

That's why it's a BETA release, it's still work-in-progress, can you provide the download links for both WingetUI and the Wireshark portable you are missing so that @Tigzy can have a look?
