• The “Feedback” button in the top header has been removed, but fear not! You can still visit the “About Malwarebytes” page and click “Give feedback” to open our forums.
• For Free and Trial states, we've swapped the “Upgrade” button on the side navbar with a new “Buy now” button in the header.
• There's a fresh notification style and updated icons.

Bug Fixes:

• Fixed a bug where attempting to open the UI while the Tamper Protection password dialog was displayed would prevent the UI from showing up.
• Addressed a bug that caused two Malwarebytes tray icons to appear until hovered over after applying an update.

EDIT: The original announcement's MB5 version number has been corrected to 5.0.12.72

 

Malwarebytes has updated to 4.6.4.286, Component Package version 1.02163 on my machine. Beta updates are not enabled.

I'm guessing the Release Notes are as @1PW posted in #3083. They are not posted on their forum as yet.

A similar sighting has been made in another forum.

As MBAM official releases are frequently made on some Thursdays, chances are the 4.6.4.286-1.0.2163 update is indeed genuine. If I discover an attributable/official announcement and/or a corresponding mb4_offline installer file, I'll post here.

In general, I recommend ordinary caution when assuming all the bullet points in the beta announcements will be present in the release versions.

Although no Malwarebytes official attribution/announcement/release note for this undocumented version exists, many users are regarding v4.6.6.294-1.0.2189 as a release version as of late last week. Additionally, a matching mb4_offline download is available.

Odd update as it didn't install and tried again and it asked for a reboot but it got installed to the version you posted.

Also two Tray Icons until I shut down MBAM.

Due to your great/lengthy experience, I believe you already know the following. I'm just restating it in my clumsy wording.

The only way of getting to build/CU 1.0.2201 is to first be running an earlier version, such as build/CU 1.0.2189, and then having beta testing enabled.

In other words, a consumer's beta build version cannot ordinarily be directly downloaded and then later be installed.
