If only updating the "Quick fixes" works for you, then all good.

I purge and update all filters once a day, start of the day. Usually, not multiple times a day.
I haven't seen any of the YouTube warnings, so far. However, I use YouTube so rarely, it may take some time before I see my first warning and may need to refresh 'Quick fixes'. Or even all filters, being a bane to the servers. ;)

Did you clear site data, and update uBlock filters Unbreak Quick fixes?

    Edit:
    Not uBlock filters - Unbreak,
but uBlock filters - Quick fixes

Perhaps because the chrome profile is signed in and YT also is signed in?
Maybe they are targeting heavy users, this account has a lot use in YT.

You're absolutely right. Thanks very much for correcting! :thumb:
I had myself confused because I had mentioned 'Unbreak' in a different context in another thread, earlier.

the dialog do not only concerns chrome, also firefox. chrome can use google-sync (like edge using sync without using an ms account). firefox is neither nor related to google in this part, user need to login to google or yt. i do not youtube as a logged in user. a short test with a login and several videos - no popup. there also exist no yoputube issue on github ublock issue tracker
    https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/issues
for firefox now i wont deny user settings.

They will obviously only care when they loose thousands of watchers, but the point that I was trying to make is that they don't seem to understand that you should never annoy your users. Although I do have to admit that I was perhaps a bit too quick to judge, I just watched Honeymoon in Vegas (1992) and the ads weren't that bad, I got to see 1 minute of ads every 15 minute or so.

Yes exactly, what people forget is that we have the power to make companies lower prices, by simply boycotting them. I personally think €12 a month is too expensive for YouTube, they need to come up with a better movie collection for this price.

My question was rhetorical. Obviously they don't care if they annoy users. Worst case it is on purpose. But being that it has been constant from the beginning I have to assume it is somewhat deliberate. I don't expect it to change at this point. The money they get from advertisers (billions) is far greater than what they get from you. You can't boycott them in a great enough number to do much. They'll just wait for you to get bored and come back. It's happened with Netflix more than one. You'd have to get more than half of the customers to do it long term. A greater number would work faster. If you can organize that go for it. :thumb:

Yes I guess so. But with me it won't work, there are plenty of other choices. I also get annoyed when I see people eating at Mcdonalds, the burger prices are ridiculous, but people are dumb sheep and continue to shell out. Not me, I haven't been to Mcdonalds for over 2 years. Perhaps I should indeed organize a boycott. :p

Not to mention how unhealthy they are :D

As for YouTube, they probably don't care. I'm sure they've done extensive research on their motives and determined that at the end of the day, there's big money to be made.

"YouTube Is Making Videos Load Slowly on Purpose for Some Users

YouTube users started noticing this week that videos are loading with a delay in browsers other than Chrome, and it turns out this is a feature, not a bug.

As Android Authority reports, YouTube confirmed the delay is present for anyone who visits YouTube with an ad blocker enabled, but Chrome is exempt for some reason. YouTube refers to this as a "suboptimal viewing experience," and it's being done on purpose..."

I have 1 copy of Chrome on a single PC solely for the purpose of YouTube. It always seems to have had the least issues with it. I use it for no other reason and I am not surprised in the least that they do this.

I got the delay, it's actually the entire YouTube web-page using Firefox, loading in about 6-7 seconds. One can bypass it with a filter rule posted in the uBlock Origin thread. I did so and the loading time went back to the regular less-than 1 sec. Brave was unaffected, as usual. :cautious:

Edit: I bet it did not escape YouTube maintainers that uBO's Quick fixes neutralize that anti-adblocker script.

    Edit: thanks! :thumb:

Anybody now finding YouTube is not displaying notifications of new uploads by accts. you are subscribing to? Neither Brave nor Firefox show the number next to the notifications bell icon but the video uploads are there. Wow. This isn't going away quietly is it? :cautious:

    what? you speak in riddles.

i dont have any issues, latest yesterday evening with some films.

but i noticed that "enhancer for youtube" is not working any more or in parts. it was also removed from AMO and on homepage there was a notice
    https://www.mrfdev.com/enhancer-for-youtube
(could not see any issue for me, but it may also responsible for delays, dont know)

currently i switched to "Improve Youtube", still no slow down.

They are probably shadow banning the account you are subscribed to. Common with anything that has an opinion. Nothing new, and no, it likely won't change anytime soon.

Thanks, this is not imagination or poor browser handling. If it was confined to Firefox or Brave or whatever, then I'd take a closer look at the culprit browser. But since I've "enjoyed" the best of the worst of YouTube's anti-ad blocking shenanigans, this is pretty much what I'd expected, just without any confirmation. I'm seeing a few people still denying they have any YouTube issues at all while using their ad-blocker.

Checked the GitHub YouTube issues thread and the Reddit uBlock Origin thread both, but so far, no one else has reported the missing notifications. It's not a brand-new issue either; I found a thread dating back to October 2023 but no fix was offered.

Yeah YouTube seems to be at war with itself now. Almost amusing, but not quite. Compu K Ted.
