    I should have noted that I do not have updating set to install automatically. Instead, I selected the option to check for updates but let me choose to install them. This way I get a small, popup reminder when a new update is available, then I proceed manually, or not, depending. :thumb:

    In Firefox 118.0 a new built-in full page translation feature was added.

    The new Firefox Translate option may be nice, but I don't need it.

    I disabled 'Always offer to translate'.
    And I had the intention to move the new Translate icon away using Customize Toolbar, however, that option is not available for the Translate icon, which is annoying.

    I tried to hide the Translate icon using userChrome.css, but I haven't yet found the right code.
    Does anyone know which code to use, or how to find out?

    These three don't work:

    /* Hide Translate button */

    #translate-button-box {
    display: none !important;
    }

    #translations-button-box {
    display: none !important;
    }

    #translation-button-box {
    display: none !important;
    }

    If I don't find the right userChrome.css code, I will probably disable the translation feature in about:config.
    browser.translations.enable --> false

    I prefer to hide the Translate icon, and keep the translate option in Firefox menu.
    If I don't find the right userChrome.css code to hide the Translate icon, disabling he translation feature in about:config can be an acceptable option.

    translation is very nice. another one is the blocking of google consent, go about : config and set "cookiebanners.service.mode" to "1" (block unknown) or "2" (accept unknown). although present its set alive in v119.

    For now, I disabled the translation feature in about:config.

    I find it interesting that if I go to the Firefox FTP site it asks me if I want to translate from German. It's not in German... :confused:
