Me too. Just updated to Premium. It helps now and will only get better when it supports more programs including portable apps. Bill
Hi Tigzy, I would like to report some false positives. https://i.ibb.co/gZYdLJb/Image-525.png https://i.ibb.co/DYBw66N/Image-528.png Visual C++ 2005, 2010 etc. have their own category. The tool should check only if a new version of 2005, 2010 etc. is out and not to suggest updating 2005 to the latest 2022 for example. Only the latest version is currently receiving updates: https://github.com/abbodi1406/vcredist/tree/master/source_links Also, your tool suggests that the latest version is 12.0.30501 while it is 14.38.32919.0. 12.0.30501 is actually Visual C++ 2013. You already know about Edge, so I am skipping that one. Microsoft Windows Runtime Desktop 6 is actually the latest one for 6. Yes, there is 7 available, but it has his own category (like PowerShell does etc.). https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download Apple Application Support is actually the latest one, since this software is EOL for Windows anyway. I needed it to have the QuickTime codec for the Adobe Premiere Pro to work with .mov files. Thanks for stepping in.
Also, some suggestions. Can you make the program to produce a log file? This will easier the process to report false positives instead of making screenshots. And SUMo is also scanning the shortcuts on the desktop and taskbar and if a program is pinned there it is scanning the path for the EXE (wherever it is located for new versions). And do you planning the possibility of adding custom files to be scanned as well?
A user at our forum reported an issued with BlueStacks. It seems he is using the latest version, but the tool wants him to update. https://www.kaldata.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2023_09/image.png.e0318455c1e526f43a4dd639fe0300b0.png
BlueStack was a tricky software to manage in SUMo (several fixes were needed to get it properly detected)
Thanks for the beta build. Some remarks: (1) UCheck tells me that Mullvad 2023.0.beta.1 is available. The latest beta build is 2023.beta.2. (2) UCheck tells me that Winareo Tweaker v1.40.00 is installed here, which is not correct. I'm using v1.55.0.0, which is the latest version. (3) UCheck also offers updates for Microsoft and Epson. Is it possible to skip updates for MS and Epson permanently? I get my MS updates via Live Update, and the latest Epson apps are not compatible with my old printer. Edit: I have just re-scanned my computer. This time UCheck tells me that I'm running Mullvad 2023.beta.2, which is correct, and that an update is available (also 2023.beta.2), which does not make sense at all because the two versions are identical.
Now I'm told I should update my "Duden-Bibliothek" from version 6.4.0 to version 5.2.0. This would be a downgrade. Current version is 6.4.0: https://www.duden.de/support/servicepacks
seems that ucheck is getting banana software, ripening at users machine. sorry, but this is ridiculous to suggest downgrades where a simple number comparison fails.
@Tigzy : Since today, UCheck 4.10.2.0 gets "stuck" (for ~1 min) at the "last" step of the check ("Terminé..." in French) and can't be closed because a scan is not complete. Known problem ? Not systematic, but 2 occurences today.
Sorry, I will take the time to read all of this tomorrow. For now, I'm just dropping another BETA (same link): https://download.adlice.com/UCheck/Beta/UCheck64.exe I've also wiped all production data for community feedback, so that we restart from fresh (too much garbage) If it's good enough, next time I'll just clean the buggy lines one / one.
This. Is. BETA. Release. Actually, it's should even be called ALPHA rather than BETA. As I don't have all software of the world on my test machne, I need users' data to know what to do, what to fix. We are in this phase right now.
Thanks for the update. Most of the issues are fixed, except for the .Net version. In fact, 6.0.22 is the latest version from the .Net 6. No need to update to 7 since no programs are using or requiring 7 currently. Even Kaspersky is using .Net 6. https://i.ibb.co/CwRsmtr/Image-534.png

All the Windows runtime/sdk/.NET versions etc will be filtered out, as most of the time they're installed on purpose for a specific version.
I am a new UCheck 4.10.2.0 Premium Member. Today SUmo indicates two updates; Firefox (64bits) 117.0.1.0 >118.0.0.0 and Zoom 5.16.0.22201 > 5.16.1.22523. UCheck indicates only one; Zoom 5.16.0.22201 >5.16.1.22523. UCheck indicates Mozilla Firefox (x64 en-US) as being supported. Isn't Firefox (64bits) and Mozilla Firefox (x64 en-US) the same?
This has not changed with the latest beta (alpha) build. Edit: Excluding software does not work here (MS Windows Desktop Runtime 6.0, which is already installed here (as well as v5.0)).
Just rescanned my computer with UCheck. This time UCheck tells me to update Macrium Reflect from v8.1.7636 to v8.1.7636. This makes no sense at all for three reasons: (1) Both version numbers are identical. No need to update. (2) Version 8.1.7636 is not the latest version; the latest version is 8.1.7638. (3) Version 8.1.7636 is not even installed here. I'm using v8.1.7638, which is the latest version as indicated above.
Tested the new beta, UCheck reports 4 updates, but 3 of them are already current. Reason is that the detected version and the recommended version have different formats:
New beta available, and fixes deployed on server side: https://download.adlice.com/UCheck/Beta/UCheck64.exe
@Kyle_Katarn Still problems ? If so, could you send me the full logs ? Those are not relevant, I'd like to see timings during a scan
