My machine updated to 23.04 this morning my time. https://kubuntu.org/news/kubuntu-23-04-lunar-lobster-released/ Kubuntu 23.04 Release Notes.
Why? I brought in those changes to 22.04 LTS with Kubuntu Backports, Kubuntu Backports Extra and Kubuntu Experimental. With them, 22.04 is running the 23.04 Kubuntu 5.27.4 LTS version.
Kubuntu has done it again! I haven't booted into Kubuntu for a couple of weeks so thought it time I install the available updates. That's where things went south. Updates installed, got a prompt to restart machine, did that and now no internet through Ethernet. I've connected by WiFi but it is super slow and unreliable. I guess I'm done with Kubuntu!
I`ve allways had problems with the signal strength on KDE. I hoped between lots of distro`s `till I understood that for me, Mint with cinnamon is the best. Every linux distro that had KDE had poor wifi signal. Never had any problems with cinnamom, xfce and so on. I don`t know if KDE has something to do with the wlan driver (I`m guessing not because it`s only a DE) but all I know and am certain of is that KDE and my laptop were not compatible.
