    Although I appreciate the ongoing expertise shared in this thread, I find it far too confusing to follow. All I'm interested in is what Filter lists you guys are currently using. Maybe even posted in the simple text format from the backup file?:

    Code:
     },
      "selectedFilterLists": [
        "user-filters",
        "ublock-filters",
        "ublock-badware",
        "ublock-privacy",
        "ublock-quick-fixes",
        "ublock-unbreak",
        "easylist",
        "easyprivacy",
        "ublock-annoyances",
        "https://filters.adtidy.org/extension/ublock/filters/2_optimized.txt",
        "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AdguardTeam/cname-trackers/master/data/combined_original_trackers.txt"
      ],
    it's >91k Network filters, and >56k cosmetic filters. Maybe I could use a better selection than this?

    Not everyone has the usual requirements.
    It is quite difficult to decipher the filter lists entered by this method.

    36.096 N.Filters + 44.894 C.Filters

    Thanks Sampei. It's just that there seems to be some new recommendation on an almost daily basis, so we end up over time with random lists and lists of filters, which makes it impossible to keep track of.

    It was just a thought, instead of screenshots of all the filters taking up lots of real estate. I'm open to a better method.

    EDIT

    interesting you are using very few network filters. But I guess there are other dynamics involved such as, for example, which browser and DNS service are being used?

    With that selection of filter lists I use Edge and Next DNS.
    But even with Firefox (31.384 N.Filters + 44.895 C.Filters) I prefer to use Next DNS,I have tried AG private DNS but I always prefer Next DNS.

    Hi @Sampei Nihira

    I briefly tried NextDNS but didn't like it. Reverted to Quad9 by modifying the /etc/resolv.conf file in openSUSE.

    Code:
    ### Call "netconfig update -f" to force adjusting of /etc/resolv.conf.
    search ipv6.telus.net
    nameserver 9.9.9.9
    nameserver 149.112.112.112
    nameserver 2620:fe::fe

    For now I'll stick with the ublockO filters I listed above, since they are providing a positive browsing experience. Thanks again!

    What happened, this thread has come to a grinding halt :doubt:o_O

    Those of you using Firefox, does anyone disable Tracking content, Cryptominers and Fingerprinters, just letting uBlockO do the spadework in this area of filtering instead?

    I leave TP enabled because it includes dFPI which is an excellent privacy feature.

    Thanks guys. There just seems to be a lot of overlap between FF's content blocking a that of uBO's. I've had so many issues with page content breaking and it turned out to be FF's content blocking interfering. Managing just uBO is easier for me in the long run.

    Simply disable TP for broken sites and report to Mozilla. This helps to improve it for everyone. :thumb:

    YouTube's new policy - no adblockers allowed when using the site. Apologies if this has already been posted.
    Here is a bypass for UbO (apply to My Filters, then save changes)...

    youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false)

    youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0)

    youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, [])

    youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)

    Thanks very much, emmjay.
    Did you create those filters? Or if not, what is the source?
    Aren't those or similar filters included in certain uBO filter lists, in adblock or annoyances lists?

    @Stupendous Man.
    I did not create them myself, but I have installed them on UbO/Firefox (the filter works on the YouTube site - no issue).
    I picked it up today from a blogger on Tumblr who specializes in adblockers.
    The blogger made no reference to 'adblock or annoyances lists', but I'd assume if they were there already he would have suggested selecting one of them.

    Thanks, emmjay.
    uBO and Fanboy and perhaps more teams were working on new rules for YouTube, but I don't know if they got it working and if the new rules were included in uBlock or EasyList or other filter lists.
    Using uBlock and EasyList filters and several annoyances filters, I don't see any YouTube 'no adblockers allowed' annoyances. I don't know if that's because of the filters.
    It's good to know the filters you mentioned work for you.

    Curious, is "Resource abuse" still merged with "Privacy". My "Resource abuse" with Custom is reporting 76 used out of 76.

    What is your source for your custom uBlock₀ filters – Resource abuse? Is it this?
    https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/blob/master/filters/resource-abuse.txt

    I tried about 10 of its filter rules, they're all in uBlock₀ filters – Privacy. So I guess this applies to all its filter rules.

    What is the reason you have a custom uBlock₀ filters – Resource abuse, if it is merged with uBlock₀ filters – Privacy?

    I was just playing - thinking I'd see 0 used out of 70 (#7204)
    Curious, why I'm seeing 76 used out of 76.

    Thanks, it has the same content as the resource-abuse.txt that I mentioned.

    I meant I checked about 10, not all 76, and as the 10 uBlock₀ filters Resource abuse filter rules that I checked were in uBlock₀ filters Privacy, I guessed all 76 were.

    If you mean why do you see 76 used out of 76 in custom uBlock₀ filters Resource abuse while they're also in uBlock₀ filters Privacy, I don't know why that is.

    It's like playing in the Kindergarten. When you don't enable the custom filter uBlock₀ filters – Resource abuse, there are 425 rules active in uBlock filters – Privacy. Next enabling uBlock₀ filters – Resource abuse shows in that filter zero active rules.

    Thanks...
    wo Resource access -> Privacy = 422 used out of 425
    w Resource access --> Privacy = 346 used out of 425
    346 + 76 (#7445) = 425

    This is not surprising at all:
    Note the last sentence. This is exactly the reason why those endless discussions here about how many filters are used in filterlist xyz are pointless.
