    It is unreliable with UBO.
I personally think it is reliable with UBO Lite + a Chromium-based browser.
And this mr.Hill did not mention for convenience.

But in my case the problem does not exist because I use this online service to run tests in my Edge browser with NEXT DNS (without the blocking page) and no adblocker.

Filterlists in uBO (Firefox ESR with strict tracking protection).
    Networkfilters: 24.665 (my filters: 5)
    Cosmetic filters: 8797

    - AdGuard URL Tracking Protection
    https://filters.adtidy.org/extension/ublock/filters/3.txt
    - Adguard Dutch filter
    https://filters.adtidy.org/extension/ublock/filters/8.txt
    - Block advertisements on Youtube.com
    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/LennyFox/Blocklists/master/videos.txt
    - EasyList (minified)
    https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easylist-minified.txt
    - EasyPrivacy (minified)
    https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easyprivacy-minified.txt
    - LennyFox uBlockOrigin medium mode blocklist
    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/LennyFox/Blocklists/master/uBO_medium_mode_filter

    Further:
    - Easy Medium Mode (noop rules for regular TLD's)
    - NextDNS with Peter Lowe's filterlist, blocking Samsumg and Windows tracking and all security options.

LennyFox uBlockOrigin medium mode blocklist is good but I always prefer Kees1958's list.
I use the MV3 list because it is more up to date than the addendum.

I did a test with our old "FastCompany.com" website and Kees's list also blocks:

    "Knotch.it" (frame)

    1.jpg

which is not blocked by Lenny Fox's list.
    Since I live in Italy.......;)
All the others (Chartbeat,Skimresources........) are common to both lists.

    P.S.

It is also possible to notice,by disabling UBO,that many trackers taken from these 2 lists, would be equally blocked by Firefox.

This is also blocked by both EasyPrivacy and AdGuard Tracking Protection filter. :)
    Code:

In my case it was blocked by a dynamic rule (in easy Medium Mode). As you know this takes precedence over a static rule. But you will have nooped the TLD 'it'.

More relevant is the total result:

I did some further testing and decided to change Kees1958's MV3 list to the full list.

    P.S.

I reduced the total rules increased by replacing Easy List (optimized) with Easy List (minimized).

you need to say that any MV3 build of adguard or ublock is NOT working in firefox, only chrome derivates.

You must understand that I wrote the MV3 list not the MV3 version of the extensions.
Moreover, this list is similar to the addendum.

It is interesting to consider that often errors, for uBlock Origin,of a Filter list are not considered errors for other adblockers:

    https://github.com/gioxx/xfiles/issues/19

    P.S.

    With

    • NoAds X Files
    list are at:

    31,984 network filters
    44,029 cosmetic filters

I posted this in the Firefox Stable Releases thread but might as well post it here.

    https://adguard.com/en/blog/firefox-manifestv3-chrome-adblocking.html

Mozilla did something kind of rare nowadays and that's fulfilled a promise. Don't know how this will work out because the time of Manifest v.3 isn't here yet. But maybe, uBlock Origin Lite won't be necessary any more for Firefox? Hmm, remains to be seen but this is encouraging.

    Very nice post by Adguard.
Unfortunately they did not explain the above in more detail for noobs and non-techies. It would only have taken an extra sentence or two.

UBO Lite was developed to be installed in Chromium-based browsers.
If installed in Firefox it has significant problems working:

    https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/commit/cbfd2ad

I have tried installing and using this extension in Firefox.
    Best to leave it alone.

Ah right, I'd forgotten about that "tiny" detail. OK, well hopefully, Firefox/uBO continues to work well when this changes over. I mean, in the extreme case, I guess AdGuard will be there. But that's a last ditch kind of thing. uBO is 100% the preferred ext.

uBo itself contains an "unbreak" list, same purpose not to break sites

the @@ means allow (see wiki) which is missing* in the "deny" list (* one only for purpose firefox)

I know the syntax of the rules.

I mean what is the usefulness of these 2 sublists?
Why does the developer refer to Firefox?

    9to5linux.com JavaScript thingy

In uBlock Origin, I do not use Advanced user mode.
I use default filters, plus Fanboy Annoyances, uBlock filters Annoyances, EasyDutch, and 64 filters in 'My filters', mostly created using element picker.

On https://9to5linux.com/, I notice something annoying: when the page loads, about two or three seconds later, the page jumps, partly scrolls down. To see the first item on the page, I need to go back to the top.
Using element picker, I do not find anything responsible for that behavior.
I found out it must be some script causing that behavior, disabling JavaScript on the site stops the annoying behavior, the page no longer jumps when/after loading.

For 9to5linux.com, disabling JavaScript is fine.
But I can imagine it could be useful to learn more about what caused mentioned behavior, and perhaps learn how to remedy such behavior without disabling JavaScript on the site completely.

As I am a JavaScript noob, using the logger did not help me find the script responsible for the behavior.
I tried to compare the logger output with JavaScript disabled and not disabled, but there was too much going on, I didn't know what to look for.

For a JavaScript noob, is there some advice where to start, how to analyze mentioned behavior?
Or is this just too complicated for a JavaScript noob?

And if I were able to find out what causes mentioned behavior, does uBlock Origin non-Advanced mode offer any options to disable certain scripts without disabling JavaScript on the site completely, or would that need Advanced mode?
If non-Advanced mode does not offer such options, then I am fine with disabling JavaScript on 9to5linux.com completely, I don't think I must venture in uBlock Origin Advanced mode.

I did not check that site - but in the logger you can filter the protocol entries for "script" which makes it easier to find the culprit. And even if you don't want to use Dynamic Filtering you might want to block 3rd-party scripts for that site which might be sufficient to solve your problem.
