    @TheRollbackFrog

Thanks as always TRF. I got that message in the event viewer with Macrium and Drive Snapshot when I used to do hot imaging. That was a long time ago though, so perhaps it changed. I think that would be a good step for Hasleo to just simplify partition restore and do away with the "modes" like the more mainstream programs, just click whatever partition or entire disk one wants to restore. That is what I do with others, just select what I want to restore and run it.

I have been doing drive imaging since about 2001 or so, remember "Powerquest"? Great program at the time. I think Symantec ended up buying them out if I recall correctly.

Yes, easyuefi has several products that are quite liked and probably a good revenue stream for them. They've done a good job with HBS early on. As word spreads, they should give the "free" mainstream apps a good run for competition.

HBS install and functionality is solid, as it matures I am expecting a very well done project. Have a good week!

    Hi @EASTER
I always do full disk backups. I have a ADATA SSD and backup to either an internal second HDD or to an external USB drive. The SSD is great I think. Windows 10 Pro boots literally to the desktop in about 8 seconds. Speed is amazing compared to spinners, but I avoided SSD drives for the longest time as I didn't trust them I guess.

I like the full disk images, then I choose what to restore, mostly only the OS C: after tinkering, testing a program or making mistakes and Windows acts strange, always nice to be able to restore back in a few minutes.

Take care Easter, always appreciate your thoughts as well!

Hi @Jim1cor13 - Yes my first or you could say top choice remains to be Aomei Backupper on this end, and Hasleo Backup Suite an immediate compliment, meaning i use and rely on BOTH for all imaging & restore duties and they been fabulous!

Since you are rather deeply involved in the development, do you have something noteworthy to say about this release?

I tested to do a backup and then restore it with this version, backing up took about 20sec, from first click to start the restore to visible desktop again, it took 2.02min. This on a 10GB disc. Not bad! They have made the restore action more automatic so it is more or less selfdriven, which helps up the speed and therefore it is speedier and more automatic then Macrium for instance.

HBS has been crashing on my system, including this new version. I couldn't help them fix the issue as the created dump files were empty and Windows Event Viewer contained no HBS errors.

... and that's the point. Any backup app on my comps has to give me 100% confidence. So not going to leave Macrium for the time being.

HBS has been running well except for the crash issue. HBS is a fast and reliable backup, IMHO. I have done over 70 restores and have restored a few times to the 99th or more incremental backup successfully. I have Macrium Home, EaseUS Workstation, and Aomei Backupper Pro, but I use HBS for its neat interface, speed, and reliability, as well as to help with shaping the product.

OK, good to know that you're overall satisfied. I've been following this thread closely and judging by the comments it looks like HBS is improving with each new build. Someday it could be my Macrium replacement.

It appears I'm on to something with the HBS crash issue on my system. I started Task Manager and opened my regular programs. The HBS processes disappeared the moment Windscribe VPN connected. It's reproducible on my system. I then enabled Split Tunneling in Windscribe and excluded the HBS processes BackupService and BackupSystemTray. It seems to have fixed the crash issue. I'll report this to Hasleo and Windscribe.

@warrior99 - @EASTER , I don't quite understand this naming bug you folks are referring to. When I do a MANUAL backup (of any kind), and put <whatever> in the TaskName field, I get a folder named <whatever>, eventually full of backups (with <whatever> in their name), in the specified Destination for the backup... exactly what I'd suspect.

What is it you're trying to name that doesn't work? If it's the backup FileName itself, that's based on the TaskName set up when you create the backup "definition." Since everything is task driven in this software at the moment, that's what it bases everything on. Are you trying to change the backup FileName itself? Pls explain (I'm dumber than usual this morning  )...

...and has anyone made a request for whatever naming convention is required at the Hasleo Forum itself under Feature Requests? I'll be happy to do so as soon as I understand the requirement :-*.

Sorry to hear about that showing up again. I hadn't had a chance to test it myself yet. Maybe @TheRollbackFrog

Hi Nate! No scripting as of yet, they do have it on their product roadmap.

Anyone used it to make a clone of the internal disc to external disc as a backup of the disc, and then restored that clone?
