I put Adric's rules in the Hosts file again. Despite 4 rules in the firewall I already saw 2 pop-ups appear (random) near the bottom left corner bar when opening CCleaner.

Yeah, I went there and have to admit that it's terrible. It's flooded with spam which on the other hand doesn't surprise me as the named seem to revel in spamming.
I downloaded the portable version but had to go back to an older version as it shuts down on its own after a custom clean without a specific setting to do so.
Maybe I wasn't clear enough, I never set it to close after a custom clean, it would just do it by default.

All I can say is that I had the same strange behaviour as experienced by the people in the Ccleaner forums. I don't know whether it was due to teamviewer, I had already uninstalled the new version.
Actually there's a newer version 6.12.0.10459 not officially published don't know why, downloadable from their servers though.
How? Asking because I am having issues with Edge slow to start upon initial login to a system that has been cleaned with CCleaner. Not just me, others are having this problem as well.
