Maybe some already saw this one coming:

The thing is: people need/want to promote their work on the Internet but maybe not if it means having it yanked away and absorbed into The Void. So I could see this ChatGPT start to quash human creativity and innovation maybe. :cautious:

Once it progresses enough they won't need humans anymore. Cheap labor.

Well, yes, I guess so. That's what's vaguely disturbing. A few years of ChatGPT can over-take thousands of years' worth of human evolution. It blows my mind a bit.

It seems more than coincidental that tens of thousands of tech employees are being laid off by all of the tech giants.

I still feel I'm missing something despite all of the discussion on it. I go to the Bing page and search on it... I'm not really noticing anything different except the larger search box. That said I haven't had a lot of time to look into it.

Edit - I guess this somewhat answers what I wanted to know...

"Microsoft to demo its new ChatGPT-like AI in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook soon

Microsoft is getting ready to demonstrate how its new ChatGPT-like AI will transform its Office productivity apps. After announcing and demonstrating its Prometheus Model in its new Bing search engine earlier this week, Microsoft is gearing up to show how it will expand to its core productivity apps like Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook..."

I think it can answer questions but I'm not sure if it can do corporate strategy. Business owners can probably see for themselves and test it against strategies of CEOs they hire.

Also, workers will have to do other jobs, and companies will have to help them, because the only way businesses can pay for that automation, etc., is through more sales involving consumers who turn out to be the same workers.

I don't think that any serious engineer is threantened by current GPT AI. It is just a language model. It doesn't understand underlying engineering concepts. It just spills out text that sounds like it makes sense. Often wrong, sometimes correct by chance. Just like this article.

I'm personally getting a bit tired hearing about this stuff. But I do think eventually it might become a risk to certain jobs. Or perhaps it will cause people to work more efficiently, who knows?

This is proof that Wall Street is basically a pointless casino LOL.

Like others have said before, I have little doubt all the layoffs are markers or indicators of the rise of AI. But there is hope! Maybe.

Probably the training sets have already assimilated this hole. :doubt:

I'm not scared about ChatGPT, it is just a chatbot/language model. The thing that scares me is that corporations try to use it everywhere and for every purpose just to ride the hype wave and not because it is the right tool for the job.
