Today I decided to try it. Let's see how it goes.

Why Network Rules tab is greyed out ?

I always setup and configure extensively my apps under Shadow Defender, so upon reboot all changes are lost. That said, is it possible to export settings and rules so I can import them later into Fort Firewall?

    Not implemented yet.

No, but you can copy profile's entire folder.

    Great, thanks.
Is it possible to just copy these files only?
I need to save settings and program rules only, I don't need anything else:
    Code:
    FortFirewall.config
    FortFirewall.config-shm
    FortFirewall.config-wal
    FortFirewall.ini

    Yes. Also "%LocalAppData%/Fort Firewall/

    Hello,

I’ve got a BSOD PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA during the install, a bit after the cmd prompt shows up. I don’t have time to read what happened there before ther BSOD.
I wondered if you can help me how can I troubleshoot to know what could be the cause of this? Is there some logs that could help?

    Thanks.

    • Make Fort Firewall to remember Options windows size and position please
    • When I click on Apply button, OK button greys out (bug)
    • Options > Traffic > Auto-Allow New Programs (checked): make unchecked by Default
Btw I don't understand this along with Filter Mode: Block, if not allowed
Even this Filter Mode is set any new program is able to connect out when Auto-Allow New Programs is checked.
Edit. I think I get it, tell me if I'm wrong, Auto-Allow takes precedence over Filter Mode right?

    Do you mean this window?
If you mean some AV's analysis of `fortfw.sys` driver, then it's expected and fine.

It already should remember size and position of all windows.
But I see that's not working for Options window.
    Thanks for a bug report!

OK and Apply buttons are disabled initially.
They are enabled on any change.
OK button applies changes and closes the window.

I'll change this behavior and set OK always enabled.
So it'll just close the window (same as Cancel button), when there are no changes.

    1. I don't want to lost a connection to remote desktop (for example via AnyDesk) when I'm installing the Fort Firewall there at 1-st time.
    2. I've received many blames from novice users, that nothing is working after installing the Fort Firewall. (Because early the "Auto-Allow New Programs" was unchecked by default.)

Maybe Fort Firewall should show a warning about checked "Auto-Allow New Programs" each 10 minutes...

    Yes, you're correct.
I.e. the "Filter Mode: Block" and checked "Auto-Allow New Programs" is kind of "Learning Mode".

    Yes, FFw uses a driver.

    But it has no self-protection.
(For example, Agnitum Outpost had "Enable self-protection" option.)

I don't know how other security products protect their services and drivers.
But, I think, if you have Admin rights (because only Admin can stop the service), then it doesn't have sense to protect smth in system.

Please don't use this as an argument to not implement a protection, I have my own reasons to run as admin.
I suggest to ask @ultim how to do it, his TinyWall can protect its own service.

    Now it works.
Now it works but it would be so nice to make Cancel button to revert any changes set that Apply button makes.
    I don't understand this one.
