try disabling extensions, then compare prefs.js (drop user.js)
fail-safe mode is not the same.

    Disabling extensions has no effect.

DNS-filtering of ads and trackers could be the culprit.

For a website that doesn't work (and I don't use),I don't feel like researching the setting guilty of malfunctioning.

    hi
thanks for the update 109 , i will wait for a while
    but is 109 Manifest Version 3 (MV3) ?
does adguard 4.1.53 work on the last version 109?
a tip to hide the extesion button should be
    Code:
    extensions.unifiedExtensions.enabled to false

How can I get rid of the ugly new 'Extensions" button?

I would suggest right click, customize toolbar, drag it off. Though I have not tried it because I prefer to keep it.

    As mentioned in mantra's post,
in about:config, set extensions.unifiedExtensions.enabled to false.

    Unfortunately, that does not work.

Oh.. I am very sorry about that!
I did not test it, I only repeated what is mentioned on several websites and forums and also by mantra.

By the way, I think the double chevron, >>, is the overflow menu.
Perhaps by making some room, moving something to the customize window, the overflow menu icon may disappear.
Again, I haven't tried, but you could.

Mozilla seem to be hell-bent on making Firefox look more like Chrome / Chromium with each update.

I don't think it's that bad. The menu hamburger icon is right next to it and I use the "Classic Blue" theme so they both show up white against a light blue background. Both icons kind of look like they belong there.

Yep, you are correct. It was the Add-ons Overflow Menu. Once I removed the extensions from that FF looks back to how I had it.

    Thanks for the tip! :thumb:
