External SSD for disk images

    The easiest way that most everyday computer users for years upon years have used is copy / paste or drag and drop folders to another location to back up their files / folders.........Using disk imaging software (or other backup related software) isn't even something that most computer users even know about, so telling them to use msconfig is like talking to them in another language.

    Imaging software / other back up software isn't as popular as people make them out to be and here is a perfect example of this.......I live in Manchester, England (the home of Paramount Software) and have never come across a computer user in person who uses or recommends their software.

    This certainly went off topic. I say that only because if someone were looking for some of this discussion they would not expect to find it here...

    Yeah i agree, paging @stapp to rename this thread to something more appropriate, like "best way to backup your system"

    Or perhaps the thread was named appropriate, but some of the replies were somewhat off topic. ;)
